Cindy and I went on a little shopping spree on the New York streets and got back to the hotel before sun down. Upon entering our rooms we plopped our several bags of clothes and acessories on our beds. Cindy and I left our suite and walked down the hall.
ONCE AGAIN, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN... NICK CARTER!!*screams*
I sat on the couch watching TV blankly concerned about Brian's well being. Its not healthy for him to be moping around like this I thought as I watched a very depressed Brian walk across the room.'Should I tell him that Cindy is in Florida or will it just disrupt him more?' I asked myself. The answer had to wait because there was a knock at the door, I looked at Brian to see his reaction but his face was stone cold. I got up and walked up to the door hoping it wasn't some crazed fans who wanted underwear, trust me it has happened.
I opened the door cautiously and was greeted by a huge hug and the word, "SURPRISE!!!!!" being yelled into my ear.
The girl pulled herself off of me and I focused on her face. "Nancy?" I asked, I was answered by a very enthusiastic nod. I looked to my right and low and behold, it was Cindy.
"And Cindy!" I said giving her a big hug.
"What's all the racket in here?" A very sleepy Kevin walked out of his room.
"Look who's here!" I said pulling the two girls to him.
More hugs went around as Howie and AJ came out to greet the two. I looked around expecting Brian to be somewhere in the room, no luck. I turned my attention back to Cindy but she was walking out to the balcony. I starred puzzled for a second before I could see why, Brian was out there.
NOW THE PERSON NONE OTHER THAN CINDY...
I was greeted by hugs and kisses but I noticed one person was missing... Brian. I looked around the room but he wasn't there. I was about to ask AJ but my attention was quickly diverted by a lonely figure sitting out on the balcony. I walked out there to find that lonely figure to be Brian.
"Hey." I said sweetly sitting on the bench besides him.
"Hi." His rather lifeless voice answered back.
"What's wrong?"
"Oh nothing."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I think."
"Come on you can tell me."
"Yeah I can tell you but its personal."
"Well at least come back inside and say hi to Nance."
"No thank you, the last thing I want is to be in a crowd of happy people."
"Yeah, I know how you feel. So is it unhappiness that's torturing you?"
"Partially."
"Well then what's the other part?"
"I can't tell you."
"Have you told someone else?"
"Yeah, but right now he's not much help... I think he's afraid of doing the wrong thing."
"Yeah friends are like that, they care."
"So what brings you to New York?"
"Woodstock... are you sure you don't want any help with whatever is bothering you?"
"Yeah, its something I need to deal with myself."
"Well if you do need any help you know that you've got a lot of friends willing to right?"
"Yeah I know."
"Do you want to stay out here or do you want to come back inside?"
"I guess I'll go back inside."
He got up and offered me a hand, I accepted and he helped me out of my seat, not like I needed any but I thought it was nice of him.
"There you are!" Nancy squealed hugging Brian.
He put on, what I could tell was, a fake smile... something I was very familiar with.
"Did you talk to him?" Nick asked me while I sat next to him on the couch.
"Yeah but he wouldn't crack." I answered.
"Yeah, I've done about everything I can but he wont allow me to help, so now I'm afraid I'm going about this the wrong way."
"Well at least he knows you care, he said that it's something he has to deal with himself. Got to learn to respect that, but you also have to know when to butt in when things really get bad and be there whether he likes it or not."
"Thanks a lot."
"No problem! Now off to see my sweetie, he doesn't know I'm here." I smiled and got off the couch saying good-byes and see you later to the gang.
I knocked on the door and Jeff answered, "Cindy!"
He gave me a hug and I said, "You guys aren't really doing your jobs... a storm of fans just ambushed the guys in their room!"
They all stormed out upon hearing this. I watched as each of them ran out of the room, the last one was Eric.
"Not so fast big guy!" I stopped him, pulling him back into the room.
"Oh I see, you just wanted to be alone." He concluded as I closed the door behind me.
"Yup." I answered giving him a big passionate kiss.
"I missed you." He whispered as we pulled away still in each other's arms.
"Me too." I whispered back.
He just held me in his arms while I placed my arms around his waist and my head on his shoulder. He was a good 5 inches taller than me but with my 2 inch platforms my cheek barely touched his collar bone.
"What do you want to do tonight?" He asked.
"How bout a nice dinner?""Sounds good to me, but where?"
"Nothing fancy, as long as I'm with you." "Well then I know the perfect place." He took his coat and pulled me out of the suite. NANCY TAKE THE HONORS... A storm of bodyguards entered the room shortly after Cindy left. "Hey, where are the crazed fans?" Alex asked looking around. Everyone that was already in the room just looked at each other puzzled. "Umm... Cindy burst into our room and told us that you guys were ambushed by a bunch of girls in here." Jeff explained. The room just let out a chorus of "ohhh's" "No fans in here Jeffy boy, just a Nick obsessed Nancy." AJ answered. "And damn proud of it!!" I yelled smiling. Eveyone laughed as Nick slightly turned beet red. "Where's Eric?" I asked Jeff. "Well since it was Cindy who told us that white lie, I figure they're alone in the suite making out." Jeff concluded. I let out a little laugh. Everybody began to mingle separately for a while until one voice rose above all of them. "So what brings you to New York?" Jeff asked from across the room. "Woodstock, Cindy and I were in Florida a couple of weeks ago so she convinced me to hitch hike with her to get up here for Woodstock." I answered. "Hitch hiked?" The room interrogated rather surprised. "Yeah... Cindy's idea, she was right though we did have fun. Want to see some pictures?" I asked. I left the room without receiving an answer and got the pictures we just developed earlier. I went back to their room and began to show them off. I didn't see why they were so impressed, at least all of them have traveled around the world, but I guess they never hitch hiked. NOW THE MOMENT WE'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR, ERIC'S TURN... We ate in the restaurant that was in the hotel and later I took Cindy down to the lobby and ordered her surprise, we waited in front of the hotel for about five minutes until a horse and carriage pulled up in front of us. "Oh no you didn't." she remarked looking at me. "Oh yes I did." I replied taking her hand and helping her inside. I wrapped my arm around her and held her close while she rested her head on my shoulder. We didn't talk through out the whole ride, we didn't have to, we did enough of that everyday on the phone... it was just the perfect time to enjoy each others presence. After an hour or so we returned back to the hotel. I walked Cindy to her suite and gave her a kiss good night. "Night, night." Cindy said in a little kids voice as she walked into her room. I walked down the hall to my suite and was greeted by rather angry faces. "What's wrong?" I asked nervously. "If you two wanted to be alone all you had to do was say so." Alex teased with a smile. "Oh shut up!" I yelled and smiled back as I went to go sleep on my bed. NANCY (SORRY SHE DOESN'T GET A BIG INTRO. THIS TIME=)... I heard someone enter the room and I turned around to see Cindy practically floating on cloud nine. "Wow you look happy." I commented snapping her out of whatever she was in. "Yeah I know... I'm going to bed." She answered walking towards her bed. "Okay! I'm going to be soaking in the hot tub downstairs!" I yelled closing the door behind me. I walked with my towel in hand, it was a long week and I needed some relaxing time to myself. I went down past the pool and was thankful that the hot tub was bubbling away. I took off my pants, shirt and flip flops revealing one of those bikini's my mom always forbid me from wearing. I sat in the tub with my back to one of the jets timing my watch to fifteen minutes. Enjoying the massage the jet was giving me for about ten minutes I sat peacefully. All up until the time some one put their hands on my shoulders and yelled, "BOO!" "What the hell?" I asked nearly jumping out of my skin. "Nice to see you too." Nick said sitting next to me. "You bastard! Nearly gave me a heart attack." I said dramatically clutching my chest. "Sorry." He apologized innocently giving me one of those puppy dog faces, I've always been a sucker for that face. "Its okay... so what brings you here?" "Cindy told me you'd be down here so I thought I'd come and visit." "Well I'm about to leave you know." "No I didn't know." My watch started beeping and I got out of the hot tub with Nick slightly on my trail. He grabbed the two towels that lay on the chair and handed me one. I could feel his eyes on me as I dried myself off. "What?" I questioned uncomfortably. "Oh nothing." He replied smiling. I slipped back into my clothes with my wet swimsuit under and began walking out the pool room. Hey! Where you going?" Nick asked chasing after me while trying to put back his pants. "I was leaving." "Why?" "So I could go to sleep." "Why?" "So I wont be tired tomorrow." "Why?" "So I could do things without falling asleep while I do them." "Why?" "Will you stop!" "Sorry, but I really need someone to talk to about something that I swore I wouldn't say but it's killing me that I cant tell." "Tell one of the boys." "Well it's about Brian and he sees them all the time where if I tell you he'll barely see you." "Tell Cindy." "Well it's about Cindy too." "Oh, well I better take a seat for this one." I sat calmly on a plastic chair, while Nick pulled one up right next to me for him to sit. "Spill it." I demanded. "Well where do I begin? Ummm... well see Brian, and then he... wait, see Cindy... aww damn it!" Nick tired to say only stumbling on his words but I had a feeling of what he was about to say. "I have a confession to make... remember when we were on the bus and it broke down? I overheard some conversation you and Brian had about him liking Cindy, is that what you were trying to get at?" "Yes, well here's the tragic part... he dumped Leigh Ann because of his mixed up feelings." "He what?" "Yeah pretty surprising to me to, I witnessed the whole thing and I still cant believe it happened." "Well how is he?" "You saw him today, I mean he was a little mopy but he was worse before you two got here." "I have no idea what you should do, although the only way you can get Cindy off his mind is to introduce him to someone else." "I don't think adding another girl to this equation will help." "Fine! I thought you wanted my help." "I do it's just that the only person Brian's ever been head over heels about was Leigh Ann and this is a first to me, he's just so picky when it comes to his women." "Why Cindy, I mean she isn't all that either." "Well I guess that's what intrigues him, she's a huge mystery he wants to solve." "But Eric's already solved that puzzle." "I know... so what do we do?" "The only thing we can do." "And that would be?" "Get Leigh Ann and Brian back together." "But how?" "Here's what we do..." HAHA! YOU'LL HAVE TO FIND OUT LATER WHAT NANCY AND NICK ARE UP TO CAUSE IT'S CINDY'S TURN... I woke up to the sound of Nancy coming into our room noisily. "What the hell? It's," I glanced over to the clock and read the time, "6:00 in the morning where the hell were you?" "Umm planning a little thing for someone." "Good excuse, now really where were you?" "With Nick okay?" "I always thought Nick was a player." "No not like that, we were planning a way to get Brian happy again." "OH! Tell me later then I need sleep!" I plopped my head down on my pillow and went instantly back to sleep, what seemed to me as only a minute was an hour later when I woke up. There was a note on the couch with Nancy's writing on it. It read: Good morning sleepy head! I'm having breakfast with the boys including your Eric in the restaurant down stairs... join us! -Nancy I got dressed as quickly as I could and headed to the restaurant down stairs. I spotted their booth rather quickly considering the fact that they were surrounded by at least ten teenage girls. I walked up to the table and was greeted by hello's from the boys and evil eyes from the girls as I casually took a seat next to Nancy who was sitting at the edge of the booth. As the fans cleared I loudly asked Nancy, "So what were you and Nick doing until six this morning." Inquiring faces quickly directed themselves to Nancy's direction. "Umm... we ordered you bacon and eggs with a side of toast if it's okay with you." Nick said quickly changing the subject. "Yeah okay, but what were you two doing?" I said waving a hand at Nick. "Oh just talking." Nancy replied. "Talking as in making out or talking as in getting you groove on baby." AJ asked in a British accent. "None of the above... we were just talking." Nick responded. "Sure you did." Everybody remarked sarcastically. Just then the waitress came with our orders. "So how was Woodstock, we heard what Nancy had to say but we didn't hear from you." Kevin asked taking a bite of his eggs. "It was the bomb!! I mean I'll never forget the look on Nancy's face when the Offspring went up to do their set and introduced the Backstreet Boys, actually more like inflatable dolls with your faces plastered on them. Everybody, including myself, started throwing empty water bottles at them and then Dexter pulls out his plastic bat and starts beating on each of them. The most beautiful site, no offense." I finished looking at them. "None taken." Nick replied obviously happy the attention was taken of the subject of him and Nancy being out all night. "And I'll never forget how in the middle of the Limp performance Cindy picks up a piece of ply wood that one of the rioters left on the floor and gets two guys to hoist her up and literally surfs across the sea of people up to the front." Nancy added. "Yeah, now that was the easiest way I could get into the pit." I responded. "Sounds really memorable." AJ said eating a piece of his pancake. "Very memorable, especially Cindy and her tattoo." Nancy chimed in. "What'd you get a tat of?" Brian asked curiously. I pulled down the collar of my shirt to reveal my right shoulder blade and my tattoo of the Woodstock 99 logo. "How cute." Everyone cooed. "Thanks." I replied lifting my collar up. Everyone finished up breakfast in silence. The waitress came by and gave us the bill as we began another conversation. "So how long are you guys in New York for?" Nancy asked. " We leave this afternoon, what about you two?" Howie answered. "Oh I promised Nancy that we'd take a plane back home since we hitch hiked up here. So maybe tomorrow." I answered. "What about our other stuff?" Nancy asked referring to the things we left at Eric's place. "Oh yeah, we'll go back and catch a flight from there then." I answered Nancy. "We don't have any money you fool, we barely had enough to even book a flight up here member?" Nancy whispered into my ear hoping the guys wouldn't hear. "We'll take a train down to Florida and take a plane to LA I'll pull extra money from my account." I whispered back. "Are you sure you have enough?" "Yeah our combined money that we planned for this trip was only a portion of all the money I got stashed away." "So you lied to me again?" "Basically." We whispered as the guys just watched us in confusion. "What are you girls whispering bout?" Kevin questioned curiously. "Oh nothing." I replied. We all left the restaurant so the guys could do yet another appearance on TRL, they invited us to go with them so we kindly accepted. We watched Backstreet TV unfold before our eyes and watched Carson asked all those frequently asked questions many people grow tired of after hearing them over and over again. Nancy inspected the production of the whole thing as she was always interested in journalism. During commercial breaks she popped in a few questions herself to Carson who gladly answered them to the best of his knowledge. After TRL the guys left and good-byes went around once again. Nancy and I caught a train to Florida to get our things and from there caught a flight to LA, home sweet home. OH TAY PEOPLES WELCOME BACK THE ONE AND ONLY NICKOLAS GENE CARTER... ABOUT A MONTH LATER... As expected Brian seemed to get better but I just couldn't understand why he dumped Leigh Ann. My cell phone rang a few times pulling me out of my train of thoughts, something I always find myself doing. "Hello?" I answered my cell. "Hey." A sweet and almost quiet voice answered back. "Oh hay Nance. What's up?" "Nothing I was bored and wondering when we're going to start pour mission to reunite Bri and Leigh Ann." "Soon, I just booked her flight to get here." "What did she say when you talked to her?" "Oh I just told her that we were celebrating Howies birthday and that she had to come." "Told you it'd work." "So? Not like I said it wouldn't." "Oh just shut up!" "Temper, temper!" "Yeah, hey listen." "Yeah?" "I got to go." "Okay." "Wait listen." "Yeah?" "Listen!" "I'm listening!" "Just listen!" "I am." "Okay bye!" "Bye!" I hung up slightly laughing. "What's so funny?" Brian asked me as he got out of the bathroom. "Nancy." I simply answered. "You two have been really close lately haven't you?" "Yeah so?" "Oh never mind." "So how are you doing old' buddy old pal?" "Could be better." "Is it Cindy again?" "Yeah." "Why?" "I sort of overheard Eric and her talking on the phone on the bus." "No I mean why?" "What do you mean why?" "Why have you fallen so bad for her? I mean you were with Leigh Ann for three years and Cindy comes along and you fall in love with her in a day where it took you a year to finally tell Leigh Ann you loved her. I just don't get it." "Remember three years ago slightly before me and Leigh Ann were together and it was my 21st birthday?" "Yeah, Howie and Kev took you out to see the night life in Vegas, back when Kevin was actually fun." "Well yeah, anyway remember you, AJ, and me went to Circus Circus?" "Yeah you felt we were being left out cause of all the male bonding going on between you Howie and Kev." "And remember the girl AJ gave that huge teddy bear to?" "Yeah he luckily won two, and what's with the memory thing?" "Just follow me here..." "Okay, well yeah I remember. We offered to help her carry it up to her room but you ended up going with her alone cause me and AJ got caught up in some game." "Yeah, and her name was?" "Cindy."
