First off, I'd like to say that Silverchair is my favorite band, which tops a very long list of bands including Nirvana, KoRn, Metallica, and Manson. So going to see them in concert was a big thrill. We saw them on the 20th of April, which for all of you huge Silverchair fans out there (like myself), is 2 days before Daniel's birthday. It was a Sunday and a very late night as well.
My girlfriend got tickets for my birthday, so now I guess I HAVE to love her for life which I probably will anyway. We left with a couple of other friends of ours. A couple of which will play in a band of ours as soon as we have time to form one, so check us out sometime. We really haven't picked out a name yet but we really like "Baggy Pantyhose". I really encourage you to check us out. Okay, back to the people who went. Carley, myself(hopefully will play new white pearls), Adam(Red Fender Stratocaster), Adam's girlfirend: Sarah, and Joe(Black Gibson but will not play in the band because he thinks he sucks).
The concert was at the Aragon Ball Room(often reffered to as the "Scaragon"). The first band on the schedule was Handsome. You may have seen them in the latest issue of Hit Parader magazine. They were awesome. Just flat out heavy(x4)mosh rock. At the end of the show, the drummer chucked his drumstick and I caught it, so I had a little souvenier to take home and frame.
Next up was Local H. Joe really likes these guys. They were awesome as well for a two man band...they have no bass player.
Okay, by now I was ready for the big show. Besides the people next to me smoking pot and the girls behing me singing all the words, I was having a lot of fun. Silverchair just blew me away. Daneil, Chris, and Ben rocked. They opened with Slave and the rest of the show was just too awesome for words. Every person in the whole place was either jumping or moshing. Nothing in the place was quiet. In about the last 2 songs, they brought out the guitarist from Black Sabbath. He was good as well.
The concert was very good. It was definately one of the best I have been to.
