silverchair's first single off the Neon Ballroom CD, Anthem for the Year 2000, recently won Best Australian Video at the recent MTV Video Music Awards in New York. silverchair also won this award two years ago for Freak.
False Charges Dropped
Daniel Johns has been cleared of all allegations of harassment towards a woman calling herself "Emily Spencer". The woman, who's real name is Jodie Ann Marie Barnes, withdrew her allegations because, as her lawyer stated, her claims were "totally untrue" and "unsubstained". He appologised to the court and to Daniel Johns for the "trauma" that the case had caused him and his family.
silverchair's next single,Miss You Love, is now available in stores. The single has three B-Sides, "Waisted" & "Fix Me" (by Black Flag) and Minor Threat (by Minor Threat), which are all punk covers. The video for the song will be released soon.
Ana's Update
silverchair's recent single, Ana's Song (Open Fire) has become one of the most added songs on radio stations in the U.S. and is climbing the charts worldwide. It has made its way to #14 on the U.S. Billboard Charts. It debuted #14 in Australia making it the band's 11th consecutive Top 40 single since 1994. No other act has done that in their country. The single is available in and includes an acoustic version of Ana's Song, on non-album track called Trash, and a full choir version of Anthem for the Year 2000 sung by the New South Whales Public School Singers.

Neon Ballroom Update
At silverchair's recent Edgefest stop in Vancouver, they guys were awared platinum CD's meaning that Neon Ballroom had obtained platinum status in Canada. Neon Ballroom also continues to do well in the States selling 12,000-15,000 copies per week. Also, around the world Neon Ballroom sold over half a million copies in its first seven days.
