Hi, minders!!! sul sito di MilanoConcerti c'è già una data che i "nostri" effettueranno in Italia (31 maggio, Milano, Alcatraz), ma spero ce ne siano anche altre, soprattutto più a sud (Roma andrebbe già bene).

All'amico di Canazei consiglieri di approfondire la sua modesta conoscenza delle due band per capire quali e quante siano le differenze ma soprattutto gli consiglierei di dare una colocazione cronologica alle "assonanze". Dopodichè a lui ed a tutti gli amici fans degli U2 consiglierei di accendere un cero eterno di ringraziamento ai cari Brian Eno, Daniel Lanois, Howie B ecc.....
Non dimentichiamoci mai (almeno noi) che i Simple Minds sperimentavano nel 78, gli U2 hanno cominciato a farlo nel 91........Il mercato è un'altra cosa.....

Well hello Italia. Welsh Simple Mind sheep shagger here. Just come home from a
night of entertaining and as always check out the great SM sites and I must say
yours is up there. I've been a Minds nut since 1982 since the age of 12. I am
absolutly crazy about the greatest rock band to grace this earth. I sung Alive
and Kicking last night and it went down a bomb. I felt possessed by Jim bought a
tear to my eye. Anyway just like to introduce myself dont know much Italiano but
just to let you know I'm preaching the work of Simple Minds and can't wait for
the World Tour and new albums next year. Will keep in touch from the land of

Spulciando qua e là nel mare di messaggi della mailing list in lingua Inglese,
mi sono imbattuto nelle seguenti news sul nuovo album (Neon Lights): uscirà il
24 settembre x la Eagle Records, sarà preceduto il 10 settembre da un singolo:
Dancing Barefoot, che pare uscirà in edizione limitata e conterrà 4 brani (2 dei
quali non appariranno nell'album!!). Vedremo.
Intanto non so quanto potrà
vendere questo LP. Lasciatemi apparire un po' scettico. Primo x la natura stessa
dell'album (trattasi di cover). Secondo x la scarsa visibilità che la Eagle
Records è in grado di offrire ai suoi artisti. Esempio: la scorsa primavera
Roland Orzabal (l'ex leader dei Tears For Fears) ha pubblicato finalmente dopo 6
anni il suo nuovo album x la Eagle. Non ho mai sentito neanche una volta,
neppure x sbaglio, il singolo dell'LP in radio, nè ho visto il video in TV, nè
ho letto sulla carta stampata dell'album, nè ho scorto alcuna pubblicità in
giro. Mi sono accorto dell'esistenza dell'album solo grazie ai siti internet
dedicati ai Tears For Fears... vedremo x i Simple Minds...

I have been fortunate to see SimpleMinds on 13 or 14 occasions.The highlight was when Bono joined them on stage in Glasgow in 1984.Remember Celtic Football Club are the bands favourites and have just won the league.Life is just "tres bon jollie"!

Purtroppo, la verità è che Simple Minds non hanno fatto niente di valore artistico dopo l'anno 1982. Qualcuno che pensi altrimenti deve essere, per forza, un fan del 'rock tradizionale' cioè: soffre di qualche difetto dell'udito.
