Andy Bell...the Beck lookalike

Andy Bell, former guiatrist for Ride and Hurricane #1 (not Erasure), joined Oasis in the fall of 1999 after the departure of original Oasis' bassist Paul "Guigsy" McGuigan. I was fortuante enough to see Andy play his first ever gig with Oasis at the 1999 Y100 FEASTival at the First Union Center in Philadelphia on December 3. If anyone is mourning the loss of Guigsy, get over it. Andy is a far better musician.

I don't know much about Andy's interests or personal life, but I did find an Andy Bell inteview on a Ride fan page. Basically, fans sent in questions through e-mail and Andy answered them. Perhaps he's a little more computer friendly than the Gallagher brothers?? Anyway, I noticed that a couple of questions had Oasis related answers. Here they are.

Q: My question would be: "What are your 10 all-time favorite albums?" (John Shin)

Andy: "(Todays' list...)

Marvin Gaye-What's Going On

The Beatles-Revolver

Primal Scream-Screamadelica

Nick Drake-Bryter Layter

Oasis-Definitely Maybe

The Verve-Urban Hymns

Rolling Stones-Goats'Head Soup

Stone Roses- Stone Roses

My Bloody Valentine-Loveless

Spacemen Three-Perfect Prescription

These are just the first ten genius albums I could think of..."

Q: I think Carnival Of Light deserved more attention on the part of everybody (hackers and public), but there were Oasis to gather all attention...and nobody realized you were much better. Why? (Barbara Masoni)

Andy: "I actually think that Oasis made the better record. Also, their sound kind of blasted everything else out of the water, especially a more subtle album like ours."

On this Ride page I also found a couple pictures of Andy and a girl named Idha. This one looks like a wedding picture, so I'm assuming Idha is Andy's wife. I don't really know.
