Gem Archer
Just an average everyday person by day, and a huge rock & roll star by night, Gem spends most of his time battling rival rockers The Misfits. Oh wait, wait, wait...that's Jem (you know, the cartoon rock star from the 80s). Gem is actually the new rhythm guiatrist for Oasis. He joined the band after the summer 1999 departure of Oasis' rhythm guiatrist Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs. I saw Gem perform with Oasis at the 1999 Y100 FEASTival in Philly. Musically, he is head and shoulders above Bonehead and is a great addition to the band.
Prior to joining Oasis, Gem was in a band called Heavy Stereo that I really know nothing about. I don't know anything about Gem's interests or personal life, so potential Gem stalkers will have to go elsewhere for Gem info. If you do find any interesting info. about Gem, please let me know. As for right now, all I really know is that the G in Gem is pronounced like the G in gum. And, um, here's a little something from Noel and Gem's Radio 1 interview:
Steve (Radio 1 d.j.): ...Listen, thank you very much for coming in, and you're going to do another tune.
Noel: Yeah, this one's called 'Sunday Morning Call' ...It's your favourite song on the album...
Gem: It's my favourite one, yeah.
Noel: ...It's one for the ladies. I think all the girls like this one because it's a bit soppy.
Gem: What you saying?
