Noel Gallagher ("The Chief")
Ah, where do I begin? How about from the beginning...
On May 29, 1967 Noel Gallagher was born to Peggy and Tommy Gallagher...yes, the very same parents who would later bring us Liam Gallagher. Destined for songwriting greatness, Noel first showed an extraordinary interest in music at the tender age of 4, when he composed a catchy/psychadelic remix to the classic children's tune, Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. (Okay, I made that up.) Noel first started learning guitar around the age of 10, give or take a few years..I'm not really sure. He got his start in the music business as a roadie for the Inspiral Carpets. While on the road with the Carpets, Noel learned that his brother was in a band back home in Burnage, Manchester. Noel went to one of their gigs and told Liam that he definitely had something as a frontman, but that their songs were crap. Noel then played a few of his tunes for the band and it was agreed that he would join and take over as songwriter and lead guitarist. With Noel in charge, they (Oasis) worked hard playing numerous pub gigs, and were signed to Creation Records after a 1992 gig at King Tut's Wawa Hut.
To date, Oasis has released 3 studio albums which have sold millions world wide. Noel was the sole songwriter on all 3 of those albums, but the forth album, Standing on the Shoulder of Giants, will feature Liam's song, Little James. That album hits stores on February 28 and 29.
Aside from his work with Oasis, Noel has worked/performed with numerous other bands and musicians, including Paul Weller and Burt Bacharach. Former Beatles' producer, George Martin, called Noel the finest songwriter of his geneartion.

Noel currently resides in Buckinghamshire with his wife of two years, party organizer, Meg Matthews. The couple's first child, Anais, was born on January 27, 2000.
