This week I decided to go with another very good song, but one that hardly anyone's heard of. Yep, you guessed it (or probably not, actually) "Million-headed Monster" by the group I Start Counting. This song is truly wonderful, I just had to go out and order the cd directly from the label's archive in the UK when I first heard it eight years after it had come and gone. It has that bleak, computerized late eighties synthpop sound down perfectly. I have rarely heard a song that was so identifiably part of that period. The subject matter, the songwriting, everything is perfect. Now, if only I could find some of those 80's type extended remixes somewhere...
