I'm 44 yrs. old and have been listening to Jimi since I was 13 right before I started playing guitar myself. First song I heard was Voodoo Child {Slight Return} and i was litterly blown away and have been listening ever since. I've had my own band with my bros. now for the last 17 yrs. And we do some Hendrix tunes and we play in a blues band also with Mississippi Harmonica Slim.We have one cd out with another almost ready to release. our first one is called Runs inthe Blood which by the way Buddy Miles co wrote and arranged the fifth tune on the cd with us. Buddy was on tour with a trio he put together at one of the local bars in 1993 and that was how we met him. We were blown away meeting him. It was like a dream. I have met alot of and played with alot of blues stars over the yrs. but meeting Buddy was unfucking real. We went up and talked to him during one of his breaks and hit it right off. He is very gracious not the stuck up rock star like someone might think despite who he is and what he's done. You know he plays guitar lefthanded and is a better guitar player than he is a drummer. Anyway we told him who we were and he asked us if our drummer was with us because he wanted to play guitar. Well he was'nt but we ran and got him and Buddy got to play and when he got done for the nite we all went over to our practice studio and jammed all nite into the next day and have been friends ever since. He invited us to Legends in Chicago to the first Band of Gypys Reunion and we got to meet Billy Cox and Rikki Hendrix Jimi's cousin and Slash from Guns and Roses it was really tripped out.While we were practicing and writing for our Runs in the Blood Buddy came and stayed with us for 4 days. We did'nt sleep a wink.
