Firefighter/Engineer/Medic
Bullhead City Fire Department 1980-1991
Hired as an Engineer/Firefighter. Responsible for all phases of firefighting and EMS.
in 1986. Served on the Hazmat team, and was a member of the S.W.A.T
Team with the Bullhead City Police Department as a Medic.
Other duties included: development and upgrading the Emergency Communications Dispatch Center. Writing and instruction of emergency dispatch policies and procedures. Served as the Design Project Manager for the completion of a New Emergency Dispatch Center combining services of all Fire and Police agencies with the coordination and development of the enhanced 911 system. Assisted in the development and training of the new AS 400 computer system for Computer Aided Dispatch system to work in conjunction with State information systems. Was responsible for coordination of agency frequency spacing, installing new software controlled dispatch systems, consoles, tower and telephone systems.
Was injured in 1990 resulting in a early disability retirement due to nerve damage in the right arm.
