Every Hanson fan knows about their family, too. Admit it, you've all seen those pictures of Mackie with his bag of chips, and the picture of the whole family. Hell, you've probably even seen the picture of their house. And you know what?It sucks.
We like Hanson for their music, right? And I'm sure there are a few out there who like them because of the way they look... probably more than a few... so what does it matter about their little sister? Their little sister isn't the one producing CDs. It's going above and beyond 'invading their privacy' to take pictures of their family, to stick the pictures up on your webpage.
I think the reason I feel so damn strong about it, is that I, too, have seen the pictures. Yes, I do admit it, I clicked on the links to see cute baby Zoe. And I'm ashamed about that. I mean, what business was it of mine? Zoe is a little girl, a normal little girl, who just happens to have famous brothers. Does that mean half the female teenage population has the right to post pictures of her, to dedicate pages to her? Sure, you may say, 'what harm is it doing to think she's a cute baby?' and 'why is it a problem that we put her on our page?' It's a problem because that isn't where it ends. That little girl is always going to be hounded by photographers. When she's older, reporters will stop her in the street, follow her home, and ask her what it's like to live with Hanson. Is that fair? Is it fair to rule over a childs life, just because they're related to someone famous? And reporters will only do that, if the fans want it. And they do. And that's the problem.
Okay, I admit it, I'm getting a little carried away. But, if you're one of the people who searches for pics of the other members of the Hanson family, please stop and think. I refuse to go to pages that have information about their families now, because I think it's wrong. And I hope you do too :)
That brings me to another point... the family in fan fiction. If you know my page, you will know that my stories have the other Hanson siblings in them. But, although it is wrong to a degree to do that, and I guess a little hypocritical, I like to make my stories real. And having Avie answer the door, or babysitting Mackie helps 'set the scene' if you will. So I left them in, even though it makes me a little worried that I'm doing that.
