¬ washington, dc - 1.23.98

Hi! My name is Kim and I attended the BSB concert on January 23, 1998 in Washington DC:

Okay, well first of all one word to describe the concert is, "Amazing"!! Well, I went with my best friend, Tami and her Dad. We were so psyched about the concert that we both bought cute black outfits (nothing slezzy) and before we bought black ski hats and wrote with purple puffy paint BSB on the back and then our fav guy's name on the front (mine was B-rok and my friends was Sweet D). Her Dad also wore a hat that had BSB printed all over it! He actually wore it with us! And we listened to BSB the whole way up there.

We arrived there around around 7pm (the concert started at 7:30pm), we had planned to arrive earlier but ended up getting lost for a bit and eventually found our way threw (lol). Before we even entered the the building we took pictures by this limo and the driver, he was so cool. He was the driver for She Moves and was going to take them for dinner after they performed, he was so cool to talk too, he talked to us for awhile. Then we saw a radio station van and they were giving away some things but they had a sign that was printed on their van "Backstreet Boys" ( I think it was a magnet or sticker) and we each stood on each side of the sticker and the radio station took pics of us too (and had mentioned that its possible that they could use the pic later for something special when BSB comes back and stuff) Then we got in line to enter and the security said, "No cameras"! We couldn't believe it! So we shoved our cameras in our pants (lol.. I know but what do you expect? Go to an BSB concert without a camera and no pics?..lol)

So when we arrived we immediately had gotten a tourbook and gone to the bathroom. And everyone loved our hats but we were constantly stared at, but it was cool, then we began to make our way to our seats. When the security (or whomever) began to seat us (which was on the first floor but in the far back) she realized that a whole bunch of equipment was in place of our seats. So she told us to go to the ticket booth and they would help us and settle this. So when Tami's Dad came back and handed the women this piece of paper that explained where we were to be seated, we followed her and she sat us in the 5th row, center (well a little to the right)!! We were both screaming, we just couldn't believe it! We were so lucky! I mean things like that has never happened to me..ever!!

So (I'll try to make this a short as I can) after the opening music groups performed (She Moves, Los Umbrellos and another music that I'm not sure of) then after a long wait, a sound check or something, finally BSB came on. At that moment when the boys were on stage huddled together we went CRAZY! Constantly jumping up and down (by the way, my calves hurt for 3 days!, but it was worth it) and just screaming at the top of our lungs. We had such good seats that throughout that concert we received waves, winks, looks and things like that from each of the boys, at least one by each. But the best part came when they performed their last song, "Everybody" and my friend and I had seen the video before (as early as Nov) so we learned the routine that they danced to in the video and while the boys were dancing to it on stage my friend and I were doing the exact same thing! ( And her Dad was dancing with us too, he knew some of the moves too, he's so cool!) Then the first time that they did it Brian saw us and actually talk to us over the mic!! Cool huh? ( I couldn't believe it!) And all he really said to us was, "Hey! You guys know it?, Cool!!" And was watching us the whole time to see if we actaully knew it and was smiling the whole time! But at one point he tried tricking us and pretended that he was going to do something else and he said, "Gotcha" and then smiled and made a funny face (he is so cute!!) Then after Brian said that to us the other guys began to glance at us as well, and looked amazed that we knew it!! (I guess because the video wasn't really yet released in the U.S. yet, we in some parts at least) It was so awesome!! But at one point I think Kevin saw my friend's Dad and looked at him funny because her Dad was dancing with us and cheering and stuff..lol.. I guess I could see his point. An old man dancing with him?..lol.. And it was funny because the people in the front row were looking back at us because Brian was looking and talking (a bit) to us. Then after the show we also had some people that came up to us and said that they saw us dancing and thought that we looked good and said that they saw Brian talking to us too! (And they were way up top in the back)

So after the show ended we were so happy but yet so sad that it ended so soon, but we had a great time. So we got our pics and our tourbooks and stuff like that and slowly began to make our way home, by going around the side of the building to see BSB. But we also got autographs from Los Umbrellos and waited for BSB for about and hour or so and realized that we had to leave (but I wished we could of stayed longer). And it was funny because some people thought that we were part of the band because my friend and I were both dressed in black and we had the same hats and we got to stand close to the security guards and talked to them for a bit, so it was real funny. So we said good-bye to our friend the "Limo Driver" and made our way home. But it was the best time of my life. BSB is awesome! I can't wait until this July when they come back! KTBPA!! :)
