Hi, My name's Melissa, I'm 16. My sister got me introduced to the Backstreet Boys, way back in like, April. This is the first concert of theirs that I went to, way back in September, on the 14. I hope this isn't to long, or boring, so here goes.

The concert was at 7:30, in Allegan, Michigan, about 1 1/2 hours away from our house. My mom picked me and my friend up from school, so we could run home and get changed. My friend wore black jeans, black spagetti string shirts, and a red mens shirt over it. I decided to be a little brighter, so I wore my jeans, that had inserts of yellow on the side, a yellow tank top and a bright green shirt, with blue sun glasses. We got changed, grabbed my little brother, a couple diet Cokes, and the Backstreet Boys tape, and we were off!

We got to Allegan around 5:30...let me tell you now, this place is like, hicksville USA. I wondered how they got the Backstreet Boys to perform at their fair, and not the Jackson fair! Anyways, my little brother was getting hungry, so we stopped at a McDonalds. For that reason, and the fact that, we were hoping that well, sense Mickey D's is so well liked among those Backstreet Boys, they might be here, for some odd reason. They weren't. But we did get a burger! Then, the next stop, was the concert.

We pulled out of the McDonald's parking lot, and was immediately engulfed in cars...everywhere. So, we sat in a traffic jam for 10 minutes, then the line started moving. My mom decided to park in someone's driveway, for a small fee of 5 dollars. Then we walked to the fair grounds. When we got there, mom presented the tickets, and we got our hands stamped. We then walked clear to the back, PAST the horses, PAST the rides, PAST the food, heck it was even past the pigs! We finally found the track where the concert was gonna be held, and found our seats, 6th row, right in front of the amps, and the big screens. My brother wanted to get something as a souveneir, so we each got 20 dollars. He got this fake backstage pass thing, and me and my friend katie got their tour books, so we could do something while waiting for the concert.

Soon, about 6:45, the sound check was over...after a series of "1 2, 2 3, 3 1, 5 1, 2 9's" *exaggerating.* Then this group called Pump came out. To be honest, they sucked. It was like, a mix of Masta P., Puffy, N'Sync, and Green Day all in one. Finally, they left the stage, and the lights dimmed. Then, a lot voice called. "Allegan, Michigan, Welcome..The Backstreet Boys!" The guys came out, each wearing either a black,or a white suit, except for AJ, wearing red. But Howie wasn't there...we wondered why. Soon, after the opening, Kevin walked to the front of the stage with a tear in his eye. "I know that some of you notice Howie isn't here. There has been a tragedy in his family (everyone went 'awwww'), and we wish that ya'll would keep him in your prayers." Kevin was almost crying. Then, the guys were introduced. First, Nick came up and said "Hi ya'll, waz up! I'm Nick." A loud cheer arose from the stands. Then Brian came. "Hey Michigan, How ya doing? I'm Brian" Yet another cheer arose. Then, my personal fave, AJ came up and said "Yo, Waz UP ALLEGAN!" Everyone screamed. AJ decided to ham it up a little more. "I can't hear ya...I said, WAZ UP ALLEGAN!" a louder scream screamed. Then, he quickly said, "I'm AJ" then, Kevin came up, and since he had just talked about Howie, he just said, "Hey, ya'll, I'm Kevin." Again everyone screamed. Then, the guys started. They sang almost every song on the American tour, except Set Adrift On Memory Bliss, and if you want it to be good girl, Get yourself a bad boy *my fave fast song.* Soon, the band started playing ALAYLM, but AJ interrupted them. "No, that's not right! Try it again." So, the band tried again. This time they played this how down music, and Aj started jumpin up and down slappin' his knee. Nick then went over to the drummer, and said something. The drummer stood up, handed Nick the stix, and walked off stage. The percussionist walked Brian over to the Bongos, and then left. Kevin was pulled over to the keyboards, and the guitarist pretty much threw the Bass guitar at AJ. Then, came the song. AJ started out with the intro. Then, you could hear nicks voice, then harmonized with Brian. They sang that song beautifully, and then got the REAL instrumentalists to come back out. They then said goodbye, and left. But soon, they came back out with Everybody! They danced great, and AJ did..well, sort of a Pelvic Thrust right above the camera. Then, they were doing this one part, AJ forgot the dance, and decided to have a how down. They got done, and went off stage. There wasn't a autograph session though, cuz there was 10,000 + wild fans. And That was my experience at a BSB concert. Melissa
