Hi! My name is Ella and I recently went to see the Backstreet Boys "Into The Millennium" Tour w/my friend Cher on September 24th in the Continental Airlines Arena. It was their second show in Jersey. Let me
just tell you that the concert is totally the bomb! I left my house around 5PM that day and dropped by Cher's house in Verona to put her up. On our way down to the venue, we were listening to the interview that the BSB did w/Z100 on May 18th.
We got to the arena around 6:45PM. After we parked the car, we were totally psyched to go inside the arena and find our seats. We didn't get any tickets in the beginning cos it was sold out when the tix went on sale back in August. Cher and I were constantly looking up for tickets in ebay.com. We paid $350 for those and it's totally worth it. When we found our seats, we both totally freaked out b/c we are really close to the stage.
After we found our seats, we went for a little BSB goodies shopping from the vendors. I got a tour program book, a tour T-shirt and two poster pictures. She also got two poster pictures. They looked absolutely hot and amazing.
Around 7:30PM, the group EYC came on and performed as their opening act. Sorry to say but we both think they are horrible. We didn't really pay too much attention to them. We were busy reading the tour program book. *L* They were off by 8PM and let me just tell you, the next 45 minutes of waiting was the LONGEST period of time we have ever been through in our entire life. *L*
The lights became to dim down around 8:45PM. Right in that
minute, we *know* it's SHOWTIME. The dancers began to come out w/torches in their hands. After that, the Star Wars music was on..and there they are..the BACKSTREET BOYS; flying out from a box; surfing around w/their cute surfing boards. Then they start to perform "Larger Than Life", "Get Down" and "The One" for the opening. Cher and I were going absolutely crazy and screaming
our lungs out to our favorite BSB. I like Brian and AJ and she likes Kevin and Nick. Then they sang As Long As You Love Me, Don't Wanna Loose You Now and Quit Playing Games. During QPG, we got Nick on our side. Since Nick is a big fan of Tampa Bay sports team, Cher brought her Tampa Bay Lightning hockey jersey to the show. We are waving the jersey just to try to get Nick's attention. It paid off afterwards and we were totally going crazy after that. After QPG, they sang Don't Want You Back. Kevin was right in front of us; doing the backflip on the pole. My Gosh! We both went absolutely NUTS! Then they brought up 5 pairs of mothers-daughters for The Perfect Fan. It was totally perfect. After that, Kevin was performing his piano solo w/the BSB bandmate, Mindi then lead to Back To Your Heart.
They went off to change then they did a medley of Everybody, We've Got It Goin On and That's The Way I Like It. After that, they were wearing those pink suits and perform Spanish Eyes, I'll Never Break Your Heart(my fave song from the 1st album), No One Else Comes Close, All I Have To Give and Show Me The Meaning which is my favorite song from the Millennium album. They dedicated the song to Denniz PoP. It was totally awesome and I got a little bit emotional when they sang that song. *sniff sniff* Then they did a encore presentation by singing It's Gotta Be You. Nick and Howie were doing the rap thing for the song. It was very cute. They ended the show by performing "the most requested song from TRL during the summer". Yep Yep..it's I
Want It That Way. The show was over by 11PM. Cher and I were totally in heaven for 2 hours. We both took at least 5 rolls of films on pics. The pictures came out pretty descent too. I encouraged EVERYBODY to go see their "Into The Millennium" tour in your area cos they ARE "Larger Than Life" baby!! Ella
