Introduction
Bootlegs, bootlegs. You
love'em, record companies don't. Not in a way that would define 'peas and carrots.'
More like ice cream and ketchup. They just don't mix. The reality is,
however, that bootlegs are not exactly illegal. From my understanding, if
you give it out for free, without making a profit, it is okay...but not perfectly okay.
Graphics
This page shows a perfect example of good graphics and
simplicity. Two things that should be in a page. You want it to be decent, but
you do not want the navigation or anything to confuse the visitor.
The black background, along with the green-glowing images to
the far left, adds a good combo to the page's interface. The table contains all of
the covers [if available] for the bootlegs. Below that are the same cds, listed
vertically, and with descriptions of it. For example, 'Some good songs, some real
rarities.'

If your wondering which browser to use, you can get away with
either one. There is not a big difference. I would prefer Internet Explorer
because the format looks a tad bit better, and some of the key componets in the page are
bigger.
Connection
About the test:
Both browsers were closed
before the test.
Internet Explorer was opened
and tested, Netscape was tested after.
Address for the main page, or
page that consists of contents, or the page that was viewed in the screenshot was pasted
in the testing browser.
Time was ended when the icon
in the top right hand corner stopped.
U.S.
Robotics Pratical Winmodem 56k installed
during test.
Time shown in minute/second
format.
Internet Explorer Beta 5
- 1:03
Netscape Navigator 4.01 - 1:14
Internet Explorer had a slight
advantage over Netscape. If your willing to spare 11 seconds of your time, thats
perfectly OK.
Disclaimer:
The connection test was done on a 56k Winmodem connected at 32,000 bps.
Remember download times will vary depending on your modem speed, browser, server of the
page, telephone line activity, and your internet service provide (ISP). This will
not guarantee that the page will download at the same rate on your computer as it does
mine, this is just an estimate.
Full List
The full list is the main page. Here you will find the
covers in thumbnail in the tables. The page has a total of 122 CDs available.
Clicking on a thumbnail in the table will anchor you to the bottom section, with a
description of the show. If you click on the thumbnail again, you'll go to another
page gives you the tracks to that particular bootleg.
By Date
Well, probably the first thing you'll notice in this section
is a rare picture (one I have never seen before, btw) of Kurt, Courtney, Franics, Chris,
and...Ru Paul? Hmm, funny and interesting.
Again, this page has tables set up. You go down, and as
you do so, new years will show up. The left column is the location and date for the
show, on the right the CD Title (clicking on the CD Title will lead you to the information
about the CD).
New
Find out the new CDs the webmaster has recieved. You'll
find the usual format in regards to the cover and information.
Bible
Not the King James Version of the Holy Bible. :) Instead, it
is a list of every Nirvana performance including: date, location, and tracklist.
Simple enough? You bet.
Conclusion
If your looking for bootlegs, and you don't have the time to
go looking through a bunch of mess, this page will do the job because it is very easy to
navigate, organized, and informative in regards to what the show is about. If your
looking for your everyday Nirvana page material, don't bother with this page. I can
tell that the webmaster put a lot of time and effort into this page. It is an excellent
bootlegs page.
