Introduction

There is something about all Nirvana sites that are related.  Besides the fact that they focus on Nirvana, each and every website wants people to notice it by many ways.  The reason why some people create websites is because they think they can do it better than the originator, or perhaps the author the site is bored.

Connectivity Test

About the test:

  • All browsers were closed before the test.

  • Order of testing were in alphabetical order.

  • Address for the main page, or page that consists of contents, or the page that was viewed in the screenshot was pasted in the testing browser.

  • Time was ended when the icon in the top right hand corner stopped.

  • U.S. Robotics Practical Winmodem 56k installed during test.

  • Time shown in minute/second format.

  • Read the Disclaimer for more information

Browser Time
Internet Explorer 5.0 00:32
Neoplanet 2.0 01:49
Netscape Navigator 4.01 00:58
Opera 3.51 00:58

Disclaimer: The connection test was done on a 56k Winmodem connected at 32k bps.  Remember download times will vary depending on your modem speed, browser, server of the page, telephone line activity, and your internet service provide (ISP).  This will not guarantee that the page will download at the same rate on your computer as it does mine, this is just an estimate.

Graphics

About the test:

  • Matrox Millenium G200 8MB used.

  • ASTVision 4I monitor used at 16-bit color and 800x600 pixels.

  • Browsers tested: IE   5/Opera 3.51/Netscape Navigator 4.01/NeoPlanet 2.0.

The page seems to look fine in all of the browsers.  What you'll notice about the page upon arriving, is the simplicity it has.  To the left it has the sections, in the center it has the logo and news for the site.  At the bottom other information can be found.  Which all seems rather reasonable.

However, I do think the page has too much space between each object; compressing the page will make it download quicker and look better.

Information

The following sections listed below relate to information.  There will be a description and review if possible.

  • Tabs - Contains the tabs for all of the albums except Wishkah, including rare songs.  In addition it has Foo Fighters tabs.  Some songs may or may not be included, but that will be noted.

  • Links - No response.

  • Members - You can become a member of the page by filling out a form.   What's there?  Find out. :)

  • Articles - Excerpts from magazine articles from January 20, 1992 to December of '94.  A pretty good variety IMO.

  • 1967-94 - This link contains the text version for the note.  It should contain more information about Kurt.

Multimedia

  • Pictures - Contains a pretty good gallery.  Keep in mind most of the pictures (and the format) are found in Smiley's Photo Gallery also.

  • Sounds - Over 80 MIDI files and 25 MP3 files.

  • Movies - Not many, but it does divide it in a good manner.

Conclusion

A simple but growing page.  It has a lot of the things like Zaphod's page (the former title of the page) had, and there are a lot of differences too.  Hopefully it will include more information about Kurt in its section, and hopefully more information and if possible, multimedia.
