Introduction

This is the kind of layout I really like. It has the links to different parts of his site on the left. And on the right there is a picture of Kurt. The page gets right to the point and doesn’t take long at all to load up. Also there is a link to a version of his page with frames for people who prefer frames

 Graphics

The graphics look very nice and load quickly. They are about ‘banner size’ and he has one for every section on each page. As mentioned above there is a picture of Kurt on the right side of the main page, which is also very nice. About the frames, the left frame has an image map in it that is pretty big, but loaded a lot quicker than I would ever expect.

Information

This site has a lot of information. First I went into the Reading Room. The first thing I saw was FAQs. This is of course the infamous FAQ compiled by Jeff McRae. This is the version that uses html so it is quicker to find what you are looking for.

Next is Kurt’s equipment. This a link to a page dedicated to the equipment Kurt used. Even though it actually doesn’t belong to Nevermind it was very informative.

The meaning of the signs of In Utero are next. This is the same as every other Nirvana page on the web. Nothing special.

Concert Chronology was a broken link.

Discography was pretty well organized compared to a lot of others I see. It has links to the different sections on the top of the page. This discography has some stuff in it that I don’t think I’ve seen on others such as t.v. Appearances, and bootlegs. This was done very well!

Next was the Nirvana dictionary. It has what every song, person, and band had to do with Nirvana. I thought this was very informational. One suggestion is to make links to each letter at the top of the page to make it more accessible.

Next was Cover and tributes by other bands. I’ve seen this around. It’s really kind of interesting.

The next thing is a "where they are now." None of this is new news. It Just has Dave, Krist, and Pat. Another suggestion is to in other people that were involved with Nirvana.

And finally the last thing in the Reading room is Influences on Nirvana. It contains all the bands and artists that inspired them.

Back to the main page. The next thing I see that belongs in the information category is Liner Notes. This is a little different than other pages, but also a little easier to use because all the albums are on one page.

The next thing I saw was lyrics. There is a different page for every song.

Guitar Tabs are next. Besides links to the albums there are different sections for: Power chord chart, Tab definition, and Feedback & noise making. Feedback is something I don’t think I’ve seen anywhere else. Pretty original.

There is a lot of information on this page. It would be very helpful for any Nirvana fan!

Multimedia

Multimedia can be one of the most important thing for any music related web site. Let’s see if this one is any good.

The photo gallery will go first. The first thing I noticed was a broken image for the logo at the top. Then below that there’s an image map for links to the different sections. The sections are: Albums, photo shoots, magazine rack, rare pictures, Kurt’s artwork, live pictures, and caricatures. About every section is self-explanatory, but for people that don’t know what caricatures are, they are cartoons. The pictures are linked by text and are very good.

The Movie Theater is next. There are 15 movies in all, but as most Nirvana movie sites are there’s nothing new.

This site did a pretty good job in the multimedia category.

News

Another very important part of any music related site in my opinion.

The first thing I saw was the news center. It’s supposed to have recent news about Nirvana but he hasn’t updated it in more than a year.

The last thing is news is articles and interviews. There are nine in all. Nothing I don’t think I’ve seen before.

Other

In Computer utilities there is the Nirvana font and two Nirvana themes for Windows 95.

The game room has: an interactive trivia, crossword, a jumble, and a word search puzzle

Did You Know probably could have gone in the information section. Anyway this is very interesting and informative.

About this page is the last thing. It tells when the page was created, who it thanks, etc. Here I found out it has been updated in more than a year. What a shame for such a good page.
