Nothing But the Truth
well, I'm guessing most of this is true....;)
- Brian was born December 10th, 1972, which would make him 26
- His dad is an American banker
- His mum is a Scottish born-again Christian (not nessecarily her occupation...)
- His brother, Barry Molko, was born in New York
- Brian speaks french and was born in Belgium
- His fave movie is "La Haine" which is French for hate, I've seen it and it's definately got one hell of a depressing ending but if you like movies that make you think you should see it (I actually saw it first and then a few days later read on the official site he liked the movie, I should get a link to that thing he did for the raft site)
- He first heard Sonic Youth when he was 16 and I believe they inspired him to play guitar
- Pure Morning originally had no meaning at all*, though looking back Brian now says he thinks it's about friendship
- Brian likes to raise his eyebrows a lot (no, really, I've seen two things of him in sunglasses raising his eyebrows a hell of a lot)
- Brian went to an American school in Luxembourg, the Brick Shithouse website has a pic of his graduating class! He looks...different
- He likes wearing girls clothes 'cause they fit him better
- He's very handy, he carries around his own make up!
- "My Sweet Prince" was inspired (that's really an awful way to put it...) by a girlfriend of his who tried to commit suicide when he broke up with her. On the wall she wrote "My sweet prince, you are the one"
- Much to my disappointment I've been informed that "Every You Every Me" was a song Brian wrote originaly with someone in AC Acoustics and Stefan and Steve rewrote the product we now have on the album, thus it has no meaning*
- "You Don't Care About Us" is Brian writing from the point of view of a person he's been in a relationship with (no one specifically). When he says "you're on the back page" he means that he always starts relationships like it's the end of one
- Brian is a bit too honest (that is if above is the truth, then he's divulged quite a bit about himself.....)
- Brian has found that him and other men might find "Slackbitch" (a b-side) horribly misogynistic but most women he's played it too don't care (it is a really good song)
- On the line "since I was born I started to decay" from "Teenage Angst" Brian says that "as soon as you get out if the womb you begin to die" isn't that a freaky thought???
- Brian says that red isn't really quite his colour (which I don't agree with)
- Brian and the rest of the 'bo will be modeling soon for Calvin Klein. When someone asked him about it on a US call in radio program he said that he doesn't suppose that he'll be modeling underwear since he's got a beer belly (ooo!). He also says that he's on the Calvin Klein diet (not sure what that is) and says that in the past in England he's modeled clothing for Gucci.
- He likes Blondie, enough said
- He owns about 3 copies of Alanis Morisette's "Jagged Little Pill" all given to him by other people and he's never actually listened to the whole thing.
- Poor ladyboy has some bizarre desire to give Marilyn Manson a blow job
- Brian once said in NME not so long ago that they would never play in Utah because Straight Edgers there beat up people for drinking but on their current tour it looks as though, they'll be stopping there
- His only "proper job" ever was shredding paper in a factory but he lost of when he broke the machine trying to shred plastic (ooo, smart one!)
- He's been swimming in the Thames, okayyyyyy, that's like my extra annoying science lab partner whose stuck her arm in the Charles River only to see a sanitary napkin float by, sweeties, just promise me you'll never do anything like that? Believe me it's not hygenic...
- Brian colourfully describes 'Bionic' as a song about a robot fuck
- He used to play the saxophone
- He would like to learn to play the piano 'cause he secretly wants to be Elton John (though it ain't much of a secret if he told the NME!)
*I should clarify what I mean by the song(s) having no meaning. This does not mean you can't make up your own meaning, I am simply trying to say that Brian did not write the lyrics with some divine, deeper significance
any facts you think I should add, please send to me!
