SINGAPORE

On the night of 7 sept 1997,Boyzone had their first one-night-only gig held at the enormous Singapore Indoor Stadium.Prices of the concert tickets are of $25,$35,$45 & $55.Although the ticket prices r rather cheap,a little more than half the seats were filled up.But there were many die-hard Boyzone fans packed the stadium floor,whooping & screaming,as it was the first fully-staged concert by a boyband in Singapore since Take That  & Boyzone will be doing a minute-of-silence tribute to the late Princess Diana.The concert is supposed to start on 7:30 pm,as usual,most Singaporeans r not very punctual.Thus the concert started on around 8:30 pm,but the anticipation was sweet.

 

When the band walked in,people had already start screaming for the boyz.The lights were dimmed,& in the darkness,everyone heard the deep, familiar voice of our Ronan-"Together we were meant to be..." The fans shrieked when the lights were on & Boyzone pranced onto the stage,starting off with STRONG ENOUGH.Boyzone were wearing those illuminated,wacky spacesuits-they seemed to glow in their costumes.Ronan kept flipping back his long,honey-blond fringe & he enchanted the audience with his low & oh-so-sexy voice.The fans were screaming so loud that everyone thought their eardrums would burst.Anyway,Boyzone went on with their next song,WHAT CAN U DO FOR ME.Ronan went a little out-of -breath,but the fans had been captivated by Boyzone's nifty dance movements.When Boyzone sang BELIEVE IN ME,the fans almost died with excitement as the boyz kneel down before them during the chorus.They were also thrilled when Shane did his rapping.Of course,HERE TO ETERNITY became an instant hit among the fans.

 

After so much screaming,Boyzone decide to let their fans have a rest with a couple of slow,lovely songs-PARADISE,FATHER & SON,DON'T STOP LOOKING FOR LOVE & so on.Stephen had a wonderful time with the fans while doing his solo bit.Like the rest of the boyz,Stephen looked so cute in his pure white Saturday Night Fever suits.During SAID AND DONE,Keith & Mikey proved that they can sing just as well.Before the boyz sang ISN'T IT A WONDER,the fans heard about how Boyzone almost crash-landed in Australia while filiming the video for that song.Boyzone heightened up the screams as they proceed to faster songs,from I'LL BE THERE TO PICTURE OF YOU,SO GOOD,MOTOWN MEDLEY("dancing in the street","sign,sealed,delivered","never can say goodbye") & TOGETHER.Boyzone started to say goodbye to the audience after the song,LOVE ME FOR A REASON.

 

Of course the fans demanded for an encore & Boyzone returned to end their concert off with 2 songs.Boyzone were wearing really huge,black coats.Ronan required the fans to sing WORDS with him,& they did sing beautifully.The boyz got a little scared when the audience began to throw dozens of lightsticks onto the stage & it's kind of funny to see them trying to avoid being hit by the sticks.Ronan had to reveal his charming smile & gestured to the fans,hoping they will stop throwing.Keith forgot his dance movements during A DIFFERENT BEAT & Mikey had to alert him.It was really sad for the fans when Boyzone had to go as it had been the liveliest concert for 1997,despite of the small stage,poor lights & really horrible sound system.Boyzone said their goodnights & Ronan,as usual,said "god bless..." Boyzone said three times of how much they really loved Singapore during the concert.Pray that Boyzone will come to Singapore for another concert soon.
