their long-awaited new single "all that i need" will be released 27 april.boyzone performed the song on the valentines day lottery show in uk & the buzz is that it's pretty terrific! their upcoming album ,where we belong ,will be released 25 may.shane gets to do the lead vocals for the ist time on one of the tracks-it's produced by dennis pop who works with bsb! 

LAST SEEN IN SINGAPORE: 
last yr when they performed a one-night gig on 7 september at the indoor stadium. 
SIGHTINGS IN THE REGION: 
steve & ro toured australia & japan last month to promote their chirpy hit "picture of you"(to coincide with the release of bean-the movie) 

WHAT'S KEEPING THEM BUSY: 
the boyz hurried off our sunny isle last yr for their month-long uk tour which began in october.next,they teamed up with french boyband alliage for "working my way back to you",a single available only in france! it was back to london in december for the midland '97 extravaganza (an all-stage pop-fest), then (finally!) a well-deserved x'mas break back home! the 1st few months of 1998 saw them jetting about europe promoting their album & being holed up in studios preparing some wicked new material for their upcoming cd.budding actor steve was supposedly fliming a movie with bette midler(beaches) last month,while ro hosted the st patrick's day parade in ireland! 

HOT GOSSIP: 
* you might have heard by now that shane & easther of eternal are married!yes!they tied the knot last month.sob! 
* speaking of hot pairings,ro was secretly dating american mtv presenter gabriella martinez for the past six months!according to english tabloids,they've recently split up & ro was seen clubbing with top irish model yvonne connolly 
* on a sadder note,ro's mum passed away 2 february after losing a battle with breast cancer.ro has written several songs for her (like upcoming single "all that i need") which will be included on boyzone's new album. 

MUSICAL ACHIEVEMENTS: 
* their second album, a different beat, has gone platinum in singapore, selling more than 20,000 copies! 
* steve recorded "shooting star" for the european release of disney's hercules soundtrack & "no matter what" for theatre biggie andrew lloyd webber last yr. 
* ro also wrote a song for irish duo the carter twins titled "make the change"-this yr's irish entry for the eurovision song contest. 

DODGY ACHIEVEMENTS: 
* ronan was voted 1998's "spectacle wearer of the yr" (a competition held annually in the uk) says ro:"i don't really need these glasses i just wear them 'cos i'm a poseur!" the big-hearted one donated his prize money to cancer research.bless! 
* apparently ro sang a duet with a turkey named dustin! the bird is a huge star in ireland who has released an album! on it the two gobble away to the beatles' classic "with a little help from my friends"! 
* the 'zone recently nabbed an award in france for best dance act! stevie was mighty surprised "we're not exactly techno are we?" he enquired innocently.
