Brown Sugar Apple Pie
6 cooking apples, pared and sliced (Golden Delicious are best)
2/3 cup sugar
cinnamon (about 2 tablespoons)
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup flour
pinch of salt
whipped cream
Preheat over to 325. Butter a 9 inch pie plate. In a large bowl, mix apples, sugar and cinnamon. Pile apples in plate. Next cream butter and brown sugar; add flour and salt. Press this crumbly mixture firmly over apples. Bake for 45 minutes or until apples are tender. Serve garnished with whipped cream.
Note: For variation, substitute fresh peaches for apples.
