... PETROGRAD ... LIVE IN ESCH (LUXEMBOURG) @ THE KULTURFABRIK (15/SEPTEMBER/2000) (BLOE BAASCHTERT)
A sad piano tune fills the room. Petrograd are on stage. They have turned their backs towards the audience and wait for the end of the intro to start their show. Cool. The end of the intro. 5 musicians turn around, Diff (guitar, vocs) plays the first chords of the first song, Jenga. As a result there should be the kind of mystic atmosphere of a room full of silent, awaitening people, but his chords get drowned by heavy sounds smashing out of the boxes. Someone has turned on the cd again... shit happens, even at a Petrograd show... Only a few seconds later Petrograd finally started their show. After three nice, rather mellow songs, they got a little louder and faster. Petrograd played mostly 'older' songs (stupid expression, sorry...) like 'What About Me' or 'On A Promenade', but also two great tracks off their forthcoming album 'abc' (out Oct. 07 2000)...
