» CHAPTER EIGHT «
"Aunt Jackie!" Kevin screamed. His cries echoed off the walls. "Aunt Jackie!" Kevin tried to help Brian as best he could.
Jackie was in the room within seconds. She analyzed the situation and soon took charge. "Kevin, get that garbage can and set it next to his bed. Then I want you to leave."
"But I can help...."
"Just go! I have this taken care of." Jackie ordered. She looked at Brian's eyes. They seemed focused, but glazed over. The teal eyes looked almost gray now. Jackie rolled Brian over near the bucket. She looked to see that Kevin had left. "Brian, think human. Human."
"How?" Brian's voice was caught in his throat and it came out a moan. He was in agony. The pain he had felt before was back and that was his whole world; pain. He never got to hear his mother's response because he was thrown into darkness. Into another lifetime, which in reality was only days ago....
Brian moaned softly against her mouth as her hands ran through his hair. Her lips kissed down his jaw and stopped at his neck. She knew how much he loved that. Brian's moans got louder as she sucked on his neck, her hands still entangled in his hair.
She pulled back and looked at him. He had on a white muscle shirt and a pair of jeans. She saw the gleam in his eye. With a sexy smirk, she ripped the shirt off of him. Her lips began to trace the scar on his chest. She began working her way lower. Brian couldn't take much more, and his jeans were becoming significantly smaller. She began to unzip his pants with her teeth....
"Hey Rok! Wake up!" AJ's voice yelled. Brian moaned slightly, and glared at AJ.
"What?!" Brian gave him a half grunt is response.
"We're gonna get there in like five minutes, I thought you might want to get your sh*t together."
Brian mumbled something inaudible and began putting his bag together. He promised himself to kill AJ later for interrupting his dream. He slowly made his way to the bathroom to take care of what his dream had started.
They reached the venue and did the sound check. Brian laughed at some joke Nick told and he briefly wondered why the day was so normal. Nothing out of the ordinary had happened. No fans had charged the bus. There were no technical problems. No one was sick. Something had to give, the day was just too perfect. Brian was still thinking of this while they hoisted the group into the air for the entrance. A wave of nausea hit him as he ascended, but it quickly passed. Just as their entrance was complete, Brian's wires snapped and he fell toward the ground.
Brian awoke immediately. Dizziness surrounded him and he closed his eyes as nausea took over. Luckily the feeling soon passed. And he slowly opened his eyes again. He realized he was no longer in his room any more. The room had the same style as Cheste's place had, but the furniture was different. He was laying on a plush bed. The room had a metallic theme to it. The walls were a slick steel color. In the room was a small sink with a mirror above it. Next to that was what resembled a toilet. At the foot of the bed was a dresser made of some metal. The night stand next to the bed was the same material as the dresser. "What the hell?" Brian muttered rubbing his head. He continued to look around the room unable to locate the door.
"Brian...." The voice was distant and helpless.
"Hello?" Brian looked around the small room again trying to locate its source.
"Brian.... Help me...."
He recognized the voice. "Cheste?"
"Help me...." The voice repeated.
"Where are you?" There was no answer. "Cheste?" Brian began to worry. He stood up on shaky legs and made his way to the wall, trying to find a door. There was a slight hissing sound and Brian stepped back. Part of the wall pulled away and Brian saw one of the Nytons enter.
"Feeling better?" Came a soft voice. Brian briefly wondered why he immediately hated the Nytons. This one didn't seem that bad. Just as quickly as the thought came, he quickly dismissed it.
"Yes.... Now where am I?" He replied cautiously.
She laughed good naturally. "You're back where you belong."
"Which is...."
"You're on a ship heading to Nytros, to be with your people."
"What the hell is Nytros? Who the hell are you? And what do you mean 'my people'?" Brian demanded.
"I'm Chanton, a Nyton, such as yourself. Nytros is the home planet of the Nytons. And your people are the Nytons. As you know you're the only male left, and our only hope of survival." She explained calmly.
Brian studied her for a minute before asking. "How did I get here? Where is my mom? Where is Cheste?"
"Your mother is still on Earth. I wasn't here when you arrived so I don't know how you got here and Cheste is also aboard this ship." Chanton responded. She guided Brian over to the bed knowing he was low on energy and he would need it later to face what the other Nytons had in store for him. The door melted back into a solid wall.
"Can you take me to Cheste?" He requested.
"I'm afraid I can't, however there is a chance you could see her later."
Brian felt sick again. He squeezed his eyes shut and fought the dizziness. He could feel the bile inching up his throat. Within seconds he was over the toilet. Once he calmed down. Brian slumped against the cool wall. Sweat was beaded on his forehead. Chanton handed him a damp towel. "Are you feeling better?" Brian shook his head. "Is this your first time flying?"
"Out of Earth's atmosphere, yes!" Brian's voice was weak.
Chanton helped him back to the bed. "Don't worry, your body will get used to the artificial gravity soon. Your are just disoriented."
"If it's not one thing it's another." Brian moaned.
"I know this is a lot for you to comprehend, but, I think you are doing well. Lesser men would have died by now."
"You're not helping."
"Just rest now." Chanton's hand gently moved over his eyes, making them close. Within minutes Brian was sound asleep.

A whimper fell from Cheste's lips as the whip came down against her back for what seemed like the hundredth time. "Brian...." Her voice was a harsh whisper. There was no doubt in her mind that he heard it though. The boy might have been one of THEM but she knew he had a kind heart.
CRACK!
The whip hit her again. Cheste cried out in protest.
CRACK!
"Brian.... Help me...." Her voice was weak and strained.
She could have sworn she heard Brian. "Cheste?"
"Help me...." Those were her last words as she let go on her grasp of reality and entered the darkness.

Brian awoke several hours later. He still felt a little woozy, but he was at least able to stand now. Images of Cheste in a cold poorly lit room came to him. He recalled the voice he had heard earlier. Something told him that everything fit together but he knew he didn't have all the pieces.
~ Present Day ~
"So when Kevin was ranting and raving about you missing you were aboard the ship headed to... um... whatever that planet's called." Nick put together.
"Nytros. And yes. I still don't know how I got there. My mom asked Kevin to leave and then I woke up in the ship. I think one of the Nytons were posing as my mother and then took me back to the ship but I don't know."
"Oh! That makes sense." Nick paused. "I think."
"May I finish now?"
"Sorry, yeah. All this stuff is confusing me though!" Nick complained.
"Look, YOU didn't have to LIVE IT! And all this sh*t happened to me in under a week!" Brian lashed out.
Nick inched back in his seat, unsure of what Brian would do. After he realized he was in no immediate danger, he tried to figure out one more detail. "But you said this started three years ago. The night in question didn't happen until a year later."
Brian took a labored sigh. "Between the time I was gone and the actual night it was a year. A year happened, but you guys only remember me missing for a few hours or days. I'm not quite sure how it worked, but it did!"
"Brian, please calm down." Nick reached out and gingerly placed a hand on Brian's shoulder. The older man took several deep breaths. "Are you ready to continue the story?"
"Yeah. As long as you don't interrupt me again!" Brian warned. Nick held up his hands and gave the "innocent" face. "Well, I found the control and opened the door to my little room...."

Brian slowly walked out into the brightly lit hallway. He squinted until his eyes adjusted and then took a good look around. The walls were smooth sheets of metal and the lighting flickered every once in a while if one paid close enough attention. A small hum radiated from the walls. Brian guessed it to be the engines.
On instinct, Brian went to his left. There were numerous doors like his. However one on the left hand side of the hall beckoned him. He stood before it unsure of how to open it. There was a small device on the side of the door frame. Unsure of what to do, Brian placed his hand on a sensor and the door opened.
As Brian walked into the new room he recognized the drastic differences in this room then from his. It was significantly smaller then his and the lighting was dim. There was what appeared to be a toilet in the far corner and a small basin sat next to it. He gasped at what he saw next. Laying on a slab was Cheste. Her body was lifeless and her once beautiful dress now hung off her like rags. Cuts and bruises graced her skin. "Cheste?" The name was caught in his throat.
She moaned slightly and turned to face him. Her dull eyes began shining as she realized who was there. "Brian?"
Brian walked over and hugged her gently, grateful to have one familiar thing around him. "How touching." The voice was cold and unforgiving.
Instinctively, Brian pulled the wounded Fetra closer to him as if to protect her. "What do you want?" His tone matched her's in a challenging voice.
"You. Cheste here was just an added bonus." She replied in a sinister manor.
"You can't have me." Brian spat.
"Can't you see you've already lost the struggle. You are ours, no one else's. We WILL have our way!" She threatened.
Brian saw his surroundings melt before him and become one giant blur with little speckles of color. Nyton part of him told him that they were transporting him somewhere. However his human brain didn't comprehend. The only thing it knew was utter confusion.
