» EPILOGUE «

~ 5 Years Later ~

Caitlin squealed as she heard a familiar voice. "Nick!" She ran to the door to greet him.

The blonde picked up the little girl. "How was school today sweetie?"

"Good. Tim wath teathn' me today." Caitlin grinned showing off her two missing front teeth.

"Why would he do that?" Nick walked into the kitchen and set Caitlin on the counter while he made a sandwich for himself and Caitlin.

"He thaid my eyeth were funny."

Nick almost spit out the soda he was drinking. He managed to compose himself before answering the little girl. "Your eyes are fine hunny."

"But no one hath my color."

"That's because you're special." Nick replied.

Before Nick could continue there was the sound of a car door slamming. Caitlin hopped off the counter and ran to the door for a second time. "DADDY!" She jumped into his arms.

He smiled and closed the door behind him. "How's my little girl?" He asked in a playful tone.

"Tim wath teathn' me today." Caitlin repeated.

"Why?"

"Thaid my eyeth were funny."

"Brian is that you?" Nick asked from the kitchen.

"No, it's your mom!" Brian replied playfully. He turned back to Caitlin. "You're eyes aren't funny. If you can see then you're fine."

"Nick thaid I wath thpecial."

"You are." Brian set her down on a barstool at the counter. "Want to hear a story?"

"Yeah!" Caitlin grinned cheekily like her father as Brian began a fairy tale.

Nick sat back and smiled. It had been eight years ago since Brian had found out he was a Nyton. Two years were spent reliving Cheste's death every night. Nick cringed as he thought of the third year. That year had been pure hell for Brian. The Nytons took him back to the ship and had their way with him. After an entire year, These had decided that she had gotten everything she could from Brian. She knew how unhappy he was, so she sent him back to Earth.

Brian now lived his life much like his mother had as a Nyton refugee. The Backstreet Boys had died down during the year that Brian was gone so he was now living a normal life. Nick hadn't seen Brian this happy in years.

Everything was working out now. But one thought still played in the back of Brian's and Nick's minds. The Nytons were still out there and they were rapidly growing in numbers.
