» CHAPTER FOURTEEN «
The concert that night was awesome. All the guys were totally pumped, and AJ felt afire. Like there was nothing he couldn’t do. With Jessica in his front row, AJ had nothing to worry about. He sang his heart out, did his little pelvic thrusty things, and just totally had a blast.
During the slow songs, he would always look right at Jessica and sing the words to her, and at one point he thought he saw tears in her eyes. Not of sadness...happiness. AJ hoped more than anything in the world that he made Jessica happy. It was his every intention. She had his heart, and AJ didn’t mind at all. He hoped she kept it forever.
At the end, AJ went backstage to see Jessica. He was all sweaty, so Jessica wiped him off with a towel, then hugged him. "You were awesome AJ. Terrific, magnificent, extraordinary...those words can’t even describe your performance," she complimented.
"Jessica, you must’ve seen this concert how many times? What made this one better than the last ones?" he asked.
Jessica smiled. "I never get tired of watching it. Every time I see something that makes it better and better. Maybe that something is you," she whispered in his ear, then brought her lips to his for a kiss. It made AJ tingle all over.
"Baby, I love you more than anything in this world. Nothing makes me happier than you do," he murmured, kissing her eyelids and holding her close to him.
Jessica only whispered, "Damn I love you."

Post-concert everyone packed it up and headed back to the hotel. Luckily they were there for the weekend and their next show wasn’t until Monday. Lauren and Jessica headed to Lauren’s room to help her get dressed for her anniversary plans, whatever they may be.
"Don’t be so nervous about it," Jessica told her friend reassuringly. "It’s just Nick. I’m sure that he’ll get you a kick-ass present, you’ll go someplace fancy, and that’ll be it."
Lauren gave her a nervous look. "But what happens when I tell him I love him? What will he say? I need to tell him. Jessica, I’m just scared. What if I scare him away?" she confided.
Jessica thought about it a little. "Well, he hasn’t told AJ anything that he could tell me, so he obviously has a surprise in store. Look Lauren, don’t worry. I’m sure that Nick loves you too. You can see in his eyes that he’s crazy about you."
Lauren stared at her reflection. Her long golden hair transformed into a fancy updo with little clips here and there, and spiral curls framing her face. She changed into a slinky iridescent bluish-silver dress with spaghetti straps, and new high-heeled shoes to match. She felt like she was going to prom all over again. "Crazy, maybe. But love? I don’t know," she muttered more to herself than Jessica.
Jessica watched her apply her shiny lip-gloss and sighed. "Lauren, you worry too much. You are sweet and beautiful and if Nick doesn’t love you he’s out of his mind," she reminded. "But even I can’t predict the future," she thought silently.

Nick was in his room, dressed especially nice for tonight. His blond hair was gelled to perfection, his eyes glowing, his teeth white. Nick took one last glance into the mirror, then sat down on the bed. He dialed Lauren’s hotel room number. He heard it ring a couple of times.
Lauren finally answered, "Hello?"
Nick disguised his voice and said, "Did someone from this room call for room service? I have an order to confirm down here."
Lauren sounded puzzled. "Ma’am, I’m sorry I didn’t order any room service."
"Well, since an order was called in, you’ll have to come to the front desk and straighten it out," Nick joked, trying not to laugh.
"This must have something to do with my boyfriend Nick. Well, all right," she agreed, "I’ll be there in a few minutes." She hung up.
Nick snickered and hung up. Now he just had to get downstairs in a few minutes. He couldn’t wait to see Lauren.

Lauren hugged Jessica before she left. "Wish me luck!" she said.
Jessica smiled. "Well good luck, but you won’t need it. Nick’s a sweetheart." Lauren shot her a look, grabbed her bag, and left.
Lauren got in the elevator, pressed bottom floor, and slowly made her way to the main desk because 5 people came in along the way. When she got to the main desk, she spoke to the clerk.
"Hi, I’m Lauren Adair. Do you have anything to straighten out with me?"
The clerk stared at her for a little bit, then said, "Oh, YOU’RE Lauren Adair. The one with the rich boyfriend, right? He left something for you." The clerk handed her a card then got back to work before Lauren could even speak. She sat down in one of the hotel lobby chairs and opened the card.
"Hey baby," it said, "Sorry I’m not there right now. I’m kinda tied up. I sent the limo after you. It should be here right about-" Lauren was interrupted by a car horn honking. Lauren finished reading. "NOW.
"How does he do that?" she wondered smiling, and headed towards the limo.
The chauffeur opened the door for her. "Good evening, Ms. Adair. Might I say you look smashing tonight," he charmed in a British accent.
"Thank you," she replied, then stepped foot into the dark vehicle. The door closed, and the light came on. Lauren gasped. There were roses strewed about everywhere! Soft music-no wait-Nirvana was playing in the background. She turned her head and there was Nick...tied to the seat!
"I’m a little tied up right now," he explained, also in a British accent. Lauren laughed. Leave it up to crazy Nick! "Well, go ahead, untie me." Nick nodded his head toward the ropes. "Or...you could leave me tied up a while and tease me mercilessly," he grinned wickedly.
Lauren pondered a bit. "Option #2 sounds good to me!" she murmured, then leaned over to kiss Nick. He puckered his lips-but of course Lauren went for the teasing! She put a finger over his lips and kissed his neck. Nick groaned helplessly. Maybe the teasing wasn’t a good idea.
