» CHAPTER SIX: THE GUESTS «

Nick and Allison ran down the steps to answer the door. Nick got there first and opened it. “Brian…. Howie…. Kevin, what are you guys doing here?” asked Nick who was very surprised.

“Well, do you want us to leave you… two alone?” asked Brian who was looking behind Nick. Peeking around Nick was a pretty girl, who was a lot shorter than Nick but she looked very nice. Brian wondered if Nick was “entertaining” the girl. “Hey, who’s this?” asked Brian, pointing to Allison.

“Oh, this is Allison…. Allison, I think that you recognize the guys.”

“Hi,” said Allison in disbelief that she has met the whole band now.

“Hello,” the guys answered back, smiling.

“Well, gosh! Come in you guys, I just ordered two pizzas… I think that it will be enough for all of us” Nick said, pushing them into the house.

“Where’s AJ,” asked Howie who was taking off his shoes.

“Oh, he’s upstairs, in his room with my friend, Valerie,” said Allison, who was still worried about her friend.

“Uh oh,” said Kevin with a smirk.

“She better watch out!”  said Brian, making himself comfortable on AJ’s Zebra colored couch.

“Oh no, you don’t understand! Valerie ran into him at McDonalds and when she realized who he was, she fainted” said Allison, sitting down a couch across from Brian.

“I see, so what is he doing in his room?” asked Brian curiously.

“He put Valerie on his bed with a washcloth on her head. He didn’t want her to wake up not knowing where she is,” said Allison who was getting kinda annoyed by all of Brian’s questions.

“O.K.” said Brian.

“Anyone want something to drink….. AJ has EVERYTHING in his liquor cabinet,” Nick asked.

“O.K., you’re in AJ’s house, so anyone underage can drink!” said Howie, smiling.

“Great! I’ll have a Strawberry daiquiri,” said Allison.

“Me too” said Brian.

“I’ll have a beer," said Kevin.

“Make that 2,” said Howie.

“O.K., you guys talk while I get the drinks!” said Nick, hoping that no-one would end up drinking too much tonight. “Uh, Allison, will you come help me in the kitchen?” asked Nick who still wanted time alone with Allison.

“Sure,” said Allison a bit loud, she jumped out of her chair after Nick. Brian, Howie, and Kevin all glanced at each other as Allison hurried out of the room.

“They got something going on,” said Brian giving his biggest smile.

“Yep,” said Howie and Kevin at the same time.

Valerie fluttered her eyes, then sat up.

“Oh, Sleeping Beauty has finally woke up,” said AJ with a smile.

“Wow, what happened?” asked Valerie looking around at her surroundings.

“Well, you passed out so I brought you to my house.”

“OK… where’s Allison?” asked Valerie, sounding worried.

AJ replied, "She’s downstairs with Nick.”

“Well that was a smart idea!”

“Why?”

“Allison might try to jump his bones or something, she loves him to pieces!”

“Oh, I get it,” said AJ. “Don’t worry, he can handle himself…… I think.”

Valerie laughed, "Omigosh, what time is it?”

“Umm, about 12:15pm” said AJ, glancing at the clock.

“Crap! Can I please use your phone, my mom must be really worried by now.”

“Sure,” said AJ, handing Valerie the cordless phone.

“Thanks” Valerie said, dialing the number of the condo. It rang only once when Valerie’s mom answered it.

“Uh, hi mom, it’s Valerie”

“Where are you, I’ve been worried sick!” Valerie explained the whole situation to her mom or, at least what she had been told.

“So, yeah, I’m at AJ’s house and…..” Valerie’s mom cut her off.

“I know how much you like him, but I don’t think that you are at his house! You’d better get out of there before…..” AJ tapped Valerie on the shoulder.

“Hold on a sec mom,” Valerie put her hand on the phone. “Yeah?”

“Can I talk to your mom?” asked AJ, not wanting to be left out.

“Mom, here’s AJ” said Valerie before her mom could answer.

“Here.” Valerie “accidentally” brushed her hand with AJ’s as she handed him the phone, she smiled.

“Hello Mrs.….. Mrs.….”

“Galioto” whispered Valerie.

“Mrs. Galioto. My name is AJ McLean….. yes, from the Backstreet Boys, I… yes….. I wanted to ask if you wanted to come over for dinner since I made you get so worried about Valerie. I would love the honor…… you will!? Great!” AJ gave her the directions to his house and the time to be there and hung up the phone. He gave Valerie a big hug. "See, I made it all better, she’s coming for dinner.”

“Thanks, she can be kinda stubborn sometimes.”

“Well, do you want to go downstairs and see Allison and Nick?”

“Sure, I haven’t really met Nick yet”

“I guess that you haven’t have you?” said AJ, laughing to himself.

“What are you laughing about?” asked Valerie, puzzled.

“Nothing,” said AJ. Out of nowhere he started tickling Valerie in the ribs.

“O.K.…. O.K., stop,” screamed Valerie. AJ got off of Valerie, laughing harder than ever. “Yeah, you found me out….. I’m really ticklish!”

“Now that I know that, seriously, let’s go downstairs” said AJ, taking Valerie’s hand.

“OK,” said Valerie, smiling. The two walked out of AJ’s room, hand and hand.
