VANCOUVER November 27, 1996 -- Local actor, Barry Pepper, keeps landing
titanic roles . . . literally. On Sunday, November 10, Pepper can be seen
in VIPER and on Sunday, November 17 and Tuesday, November 19 he will appear
in the TV mini-series The Titanic. Between now, then and for the rest of
the year Pepper appears on a near-weekly-basis in the award-winning series
Madison. And if that wasn't enough, he is currently filming a Supporting
Lead role on Twentieth Century Fox's feature Firestorm.
On VIPER Pepper performs the Guest Lead role of JOHNNY HODGE which airs on
NBC affiliate KIRO TV on Sunday, November 10 at 8:00 PM and again later at
12:30 AM (November 11). In the episode, titled "Whitefire", Pepper plays a
high-end diamond thief.
In CBS's TV mini-series The Titanic Pepper's supporting character, HAROLD
BRIDE, is a British naval telegraph officer. "Although this wasn't a really
large role, there was no way I was passing on an opportunity to work with
such a brilliant cast," says Pepper. The Titanic stars Peter Gallagher,
Roger Rees, Tim Curry and Mike Doyle. George C. Scott, whom Pepper has a
couple of scenes with, is also in the mini-series which airs Sunday,
November 17 and Tuesday, November 19 on CBS at 9:00 PM.
Pepper is currently filming the lead role of PACKER in the Twentieth Century
Fox feature, Firestorm. The action packed adventure stars Howie Long
(Broken Arrow), Suzy Amis (The Usual Suspects), Scott Glenn (Courage Under
Fire), and William Forsythe (The Rock). Pepper plays a convict who, with
three other criminals, use a "firestorm" as cover for their escape when they
run into an ambitious firefighter (Long).
At twenty-six years old, Pepper is one of Canada's fastest rising stars: He started acting only four short years ago and has already had lead and guest-starring roles in numerous TV movies and TV series such as M.A.N.T.I.S., Highlander, Lonesome Dove (twice), Outer Limits, Toe Tags (pilot, series lead), Spiders Web and Sentinel. While juggling his busy schedule, Barry Pepper has also performed the recurring role of Mick Farley on the award-winning TV series Madison for all four of its seasons.
