Those of you who have been packing your bags in anticipation of getting the call to take over as Our Lady Peace's guitarist can go ahead and unpack. A new guitar player has been named… and he's not you.
Unless your name is Steve Mazur, of course. A Detroit native, Mazur will join the OLP crew as their new guitar guy. ChartAttackers will remember that OLP asked rock star hopefuls around the world to send them resumes and video samples documenting their abilities. Well, the band have spoken. However, there is no clear indication as to exactly how the winner was determined and whether Mazur was one of the many worldwide respondents. But according to Columbia Records, OLP has spent the last two months reviewing submissions in search of the needle in the haystack.
Fans can expect the new OLP album, Gravity, on June 18. In fact, the first single, "Somewhere Out There," has already hit the airwaves. The album was produced by legendary rock producer, Bob Rock.
You OLP rejects weeping in your buckets of Cherry Garcia still have something to look forward to. According to Columbia Records, the band are sending out personal letters to every applicant. So what if the letter says "Dear (insert name here)" and Raine 's signature looks suspiciously like a stamp. It's the thought that counts.
