i swear, you have to love them.

ok this is here to explain my love for sublime. i originally started listening to sublime because i had the saturday morning cartoons' greatest hits cd (featuring hong kong phooey). this was, i believe, my 8th grade year. my brother and i loved that song and would play it over and over, but, since we live in the middle of absolute nowhere, i never really looked into them. then, brad died...rest his soul. mtv (sucks ass) caught on to them and made them all mainstream, which, for now and ONLY now and i going to thank them, because that's how i got into sublime. the people i hung out with were big sublime fans, so before i knew it i had the self titled and 40 oz. then, i found some other dude in my grade that like sublime a lot, and he had robbin' the hood and said he didn't like it too much...so i umm...ok DAMMIT i said i would buy it but i didn't. heh heh. freebie. anyway, i was all into those 3 cds, and i was regularly visiting the skunk site, then came s.h.s., so before i knew it i was looking into bootlegs. the first one i got was the firecracker lounge, then i got pure anus and seems so silly. now there is stand by your van which is basically the same as seems so silly...but better sound quality. anyway, all these items have totally feuled my fire-y love for sublime.

their music appeals to me because it is a great mix of reggae, punk, hip-hop, and just about every other sort of music out there...dub-riffic. brad had a great voice and was an awesome guitarist. eric is probably the best bassist in the field right now. bud...bud is the hardest hitting drummer i've ever heard. together they make the most incredibly appealing music ever. if you're new to sublime, i highly recommend 40 ounces to freedom. and get the video "stories tales lies and exaggerations". it's great. anyway, back to their music. they fuse so many different styles in, everybody has to like them. there really isn't any excuse not to love sublime. i have found myself liking a lot more rap and hip-hop oriented stuff since i've started listening to them. ok so that's enough...this is long...but i highly recommend sublime. they're chilled out and rowdy...they're sure to set the mood if you're out for partying, or if you just want to chill out you can listen to the same song...it's all about whatever mood you're in.

rest in peace, bradley.
