Pat O'Shea and the Eldorado Kings
This is an article I wrote for Rhythm and News Magazine. The edited and copyrighted version appeared in the May 1997 hardcopy edition of R & N magazine. This is the complete and unedited version which was originally submitted. The Cancun Cafe is no longer in business. Pat O'Shea and the Eldorado Kings are still cranking out the blues. If you are in the Northeast, check them out. They are amazing and continue to improve with each show. LB 2/7/99.

Pat O'Shea and the Eldorado Kings can be seen in the Northeast, mostly in the Hudson Valley area of NY at various clubs. They also host an open mike night at the Cactus Club in Poughkeepsie, NY every Sunday. Once in a while, I have gone to the E.K.'s open mike nights. A couple of times I think I did OK and a couple of time I simply was terrible. The best thing about every time I went: Pat was there with encouragement and always coached me while I was on stage. He also taught me ninth chords, which are essential for giving blues that low down edge that makes the blues your friend when you're down and out. Thanks Pat!!!!!!! LB
