Consider Me Does the world consider me An adult now Now that I've reached That peachy age of 18 And a few years of mental anguish And a few hours of being legal? Do you consider me An adult now Now that I've let you see me? Now that I still speak In riddles And plain phrases of petty desires And cold dark places? Does my teacher consider me Older and worthy Now that I look into her eyes Though I still color my horses Of a different color And I can never stay inside The lines And even when I raise my hand I have no control? Does my lover Consider me worthy Consider me wiser Now that I can walk away? Do you consider me older Now that you see what I look like Inside? Do you even consider me? 3:34 a.m. 8/31/98 Suo Mynona Back to Poem Index Home
