Another solid game by Petr, but I still don't think he's gotton into the rhythm that he was in during the second half of last season. Nonetheless, Sykie's got 6 points in 6 games. Heres the ticker recap:
"Although the offense seemed sluggish for two of three periods, the New Jersey Devils have posted consecutive victories after getting off to the worst start in team history.
Patrik Elias scored to snap a first-period tie and set up defenseman Scott Niedermayer for the game-winner midway through the second as the Devils edged the Ottawa Senators, 3-2, in the opener of a home-and-home series.
New Jersey outshot Ottawa, 11-4, in the second period and grabbed a 3-1 advantage at the midway point when Niedermayer scored his first goal of the season.
Martin Brodeur turned away 21 shots as New Jersey won its second straight following an 0-3-0-1 start.
The Devils were outshot, 19-7, in the first and third periods"
