Despair; Cast on Recruit. A swordsman becomes an archer, while an archer becomes a swordsman. Has no effect on weapon Master or reakshasa.

Despair; Cast on group. All members of group recieve +1 damage from shadows( before checking armor). Visions receive +2 damage instead.

Despair; Cast on group. A player controlled group moves in a random legal direction. Has no effect on computer controlled groups.

Despair; Cast on globe. Next turn, opponent has all spell casting costs adjusted by +1 primary and +1 secondary mana per spell.

Despair; Cast on Group not in structure. Groups movement orders are cancelled and it cannot be moved. Duration: turn of casting+1.

Despair; Cast on water. square becomes ice. (group's skate across ice onto next square, if possible. Collisionson ice can be unpredictable.)

Frost Dragon


Despair; H:3 A:1 HP:13 L:2 Territorial, Flight. At start of combat, casts Frostbite (-3 maximum hit points, +1 maximum hit points per turn for 3 turns) on opposing group. When Frost Dragon damages an opponent, opponent does not attack in the next combat round.

Gorgon


Despair; H:2 A:0 HP:7 L:2 Territorial. Gorgon's hits give Gorgon' Gaze (-1 damage and +1 armor, cumulative. A minion who geet three or more of any Gaze is killed). If killed by a recruit, recruit gets gorgon's head( owner's hits give Gorgon's gaze; Transfers to a recruit who kills it's owner.

Nihil


Despair; Cast on globe. H:2 A:1 HP:7 L:2 Created in a random square. Nihil is a shadow Hero swordsman. Cannot join groups, add recruits or enter structures. When hit by a minion, minion gets nihil's Curse. (each hero may be cast only once per game.)

Nihil's Minion


Despair; Cast on recruit. Recruit changes into a shadow, no longer deals hand or missile damage, and is set to 0 armor. Duration: turn of casting +1.

Oblivion


Despair; Cast on recruit group. Each recruit in group no longer attacks. When each recruit is damaged by an attacker, that recruit resumes attacking normally at the start of next round. dispelled after next combat.

Shadow Friend


Despair; Cast on recruit. Recruit has all individual spells dispelled, and changes into a Shadow. Recruit's group has all group spells dispelled.

Shadowmasque


Despair; Cast on recruit. When recruit is hit by a swordsman, swordsman gets Shadow's chill (conjuration, 1 turn, -N hand damage, where N is the number of turns remaining. Duration increases by +1 turn every round for the initial fight only, to a maximum of swordsman's hand damage.

Despair; Cast on monster. Plains, forest, and desert in the four squares adjacent to monster attract enemy-controlled groups. (Groups adjacent to attracting squares before movement must move toward one of them.)

Despair; Cast on minion. Minion gets +4 maximum and current hit points. When any other member of target's group is hit (before checking armor), target receives the damage instead, ignoring armor. Only one in a group.
