    Joey McMurtrie began has racing career in Go-Karts, racing in his own back yard before moving on to organized kart racing at Snydersville Speedway.  His first year at Snydersville came in 1992, when he was just 7 years old.  He then continued until 1996, when he finished second in Snydersville's Caged Kart points while driving for Karl Trinchere.    In 1997 Joey was named rookie of the year in the MAScar North Series.   This year Joey will be behind the wheel of an Eagle P-2 chassis owned by Ed Steglik and Joey's father and fellow MAScar North competitor, Jack McMurtrie.
