Misaki has just come to the big city and she is
instantly taken by a new game aired all over the city. This new
craze is called Angelic Layer, a heated battle between
two miniature robots controlled by the users mind. The robots,
are lovingly called angels, and each angel has their own name.
On top of that, each angel is unique, as unique as the controller
is, along with clothes and performance specifications. Indeed
it is a toy/game with its own soul. Almost as soon as she
stepped of the train, Misaki goes to the nearest angel store
and buys the whole set. Soon enough she finds herself in
competitions and challenges that she never could have
imagined. Can Misaki win, and what is her reason for
coming to the big city?
Thought playing with dolls were only for
girls? Be prepared to be proved wrong. These dolls
would make Barbie a punching bag and Ken look like a
wuss. Beautifully animated by the all female squad,
CLAMP, it stands up to the views expectations. You
may have watched Card Captor Sakura or Chobits,
yea these girls made those series too. Both
colourful and fresh, Angelic Layer is no
loser in the competition with other animes. If
you loved CCS you will definitely take to
this series in no time.
