The story takes place in the 1990's and racing
has become a big sport in rural Japan. Young men take the streets
at night to practice their driving skills on the back mountain
roads. Facing off against each other and against the clock, who
will be crowned king of the mountain passes?
Move over Fast and Furious, this will show will show
you who's boss. Who needs cool looking cars if you got mad
driving skills!! This is a real driver's anime. No super looking cars
just pure skills on the black street. I personally think this series
is the father of ALL racing show/movies. It's no crappy drag
race, its a real race with hair pin turns and drifts!! Sure it's a little old
but who cares! The show is just suuuugggoooiii!!! You can watch
either the 1st stage or 2nd stage, or even 3rd stage (the movie).
But if you are one of those people who can't take old 3d cinematics
watch Battle stage with 2003 technology. Which ever you choose to
watch you will be amazed by the driving and story behind it all! But the
best part of this anime is the...MUSIC!! MY GOD, the music seems
to put you in the car beside the driver! Never, and I mean NEVER
listen to this sound track when driving, you WILL start to drive
like the anime (and probably get caught by the police). Music
from Avex tracks and MOVE being this anime to life. Without a
doubt, this is an anime to watch.
For all those who need the Initial D experience when
driving (like myself) without the police catching you go to
your local arcade. They should have Initial D version 1 or 2
if not, then your local arcade sucks...sucks, I can't get any
nicer about it.

but 3rd Stage is on the way and Battle Stage is only
available off your local fan subber.
