God Bless

While driving to work at about 0615 hours, Monday 24 February 97, Master Sergeant Darr was involved in an auto accident with a tractor trailer on Route 280 eastbound. He incurred massive trauma top the head and chest, and was pronounced dead on arrival at Morristown Memorial Hospital, in Morristown, New Jersey.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry, and his son Elliot, age 4 at the time.

He dedicated a great deal of his life to serving his country, and a part of that service was training ROTC cadets to be future leaders.

But his family, other than Sherry and Elliot, was the Green Berets.
We in ROTC were just fortunate enough to have had him TDY for a time.

Someone asked me how I feel. I remember the realization hit me that he was actually gone when I saw his office door closed. I had never known a time before when the door wasn't open and he wasn't available. Then, one day, the door was closed.

Rest, soldier.
You've reached the end of the trail.
