Chichiri is also one of my favorite characters in Fushigi Yuugi, and that's not just because he's cute either. (although that `does' have `something' to do with it.) Chichiri is the oldest of the Suzaku warriors, and as such, often comes across as the wise older brother of the group. (when he's not running around all cute and super-deformed that is ;)

A note on his voice, I love Seki Tomokazu, he makes a perfect Chichiri when he's being both serious and funny. (And he can sing, and that's always a plus in my book :) But I have to admit, Pioneer did a wonderful job in casting his voice actor in the dub. He just makes him so darn lovable!

Though, to be honest, I was at first miffed that the dub did away with his trademark `no das', and replaced it with, `ya know'. But, it should be noted that on at least two occasions, dub-Chiri does say `da', and the `ya knows' really grow to fit him. :)

Chichiri is what I classify as a `cuddle character', meaning that he's the type of anime character that you just want to run up and give a big hug to. (Hey, I'd hug him anyway. And before anyone blurts out that he's a monk, I know that, but he's a buddhist monk, and they CAN marry! so there! Oh well, too bad I already have my hands full with Naka-chan and Tori-chan ;)
