Sailor Moon DBZ: Chapter 6 - Escape from the Saiyans

The VentureStar left the Saiyan ship for its return trip to Earth.
Everyone onboard began to relax and think the fight is over, when the ship
had a hard jolt all of a sudden. Serena was quick and check the
instruments, "The Computer automatically raised the shields. The Saiyan
ship is firing on. Beginning evasive action.." Laser shots fired from just
about every gun on the Saiyan ship. Serena's flying skill took over and she
managed to dodge most of the laser shots, "Shield can't take this much
longer. Got any bright ideas Bulma?"

Bulma was busy arming the laser guns, which were only two in the
front, "No I don't. I just scanned the Saiyan ship. They're arming a very
big gun and aiming it at Earth. My guess is they want to blow up the Earth."

Just then Goku entered the cockpit, "How long before they can fire
the gun?"

Bulma did some scans, "Off hand, I'd say they'll have full power in
a little under 2 hours."

Goku grinned at this, "They don't know it, but they're wasting their
time."

This drew some curious glances from Bulma and Serena. Serena asked,
"What makes you say that?"

"Well, Venus and I mad a little visit to their engine room before
you contacted me, and we planted a little surprise for them."

Serena asked, "What kind of surprise?"

Goku grinned again and said, "Let's just say that any minute now the
engines are going to go, kaboom." This got Serena and Bulma wide-eyed.

Inside the Engine room of the Saiyan ship, in a corner no one was
looking in, a small device was counting down. It was connected to
explosives, counting down with 5 minutes left on the timer.

Serena asked, with a shocked expression, "You planted a bomb?" The
ship was hit with another jolt.

"Yes I did. All you got to do, is get out of range of those guns
and stay there for at least 5 minutes," Goku stated matter-of-factly.
Serena gripped the engine throttle, and floored it to full thrust. The
engines roared to life and the VentureStar Rocketed toward Earth.

The Saiyan captain was once again doing his usual, getting very
angry, "Full power to the engines. They will not escape."

One of the officers on the bridge reported, "Sir, we are already at
full power. We lost most of the engines when that shuttle got to, and
boarded, the ship. We can't go any faster." The captained groaned. This
was not his day.

But the captain stopped his grumbling and began to laugh evilly, "No
matter. They will die anyway when I fire the Ion Cannon." Little did he
know, his life was going to end in exactly 45 seconds.

Serena began accessing the ships power grid, "I'm directing all
power to the aft shields," she pushed the intercom, "Everyone, bras for
impact." Bulma powered down the lasers to give more power to the shields.
Just then, there was a loud explosion. The Saiyan ship blew apart into
pieces, from the engine working its way to the front. A shock wave expanded
from the explosion, threatening the VentureStar as well. Fortunately, the
shields held, but barely, and everyone managed to settle down. The shields
were dropped and all power was routed back to the necessary systems for
travel back to Earth.

As soon as Serena was done, she began undoing her ponytail, which
puzzled Bulma, "What are you doing, Sera?"

Serena grinned at Bulma, "Sera Gardener is not my real name Bulma.
It's Serena Tsukino."

Bulma's eyes bugged out, "You got your memory back?" Serena nodded
and Bulma asked, "So you mean the people we just rescued are....."

Serena didn't let Bulma finish, "My parents and my brother? Yes
they are." By this time, Serena had her hair back in her two meatballs, and
two ponytail style, "And this is how my hair was before I was found at
Master Roshi's island. I'll leave the flying to you for a while Bulma, we
got people in the back that want answers to a bizillion questions." With
that, Serena stud up, and walked into the passenger area of the ship. When
she got in there, the Dragon Ball gang, except for Goku, looked at her as if
she was weird.

Krilen spoke up, "Hay, Sera. What's with the change in hair style?
Why are you a Sailor Scout too, to boot?"

Serena smiled, "It's a long story Krilen. One that dates back to a
thousand years ago." Serena began her tail. Told the DB gang about the
Silver Millennium and her first year as Sailor Moon, and how she ended up on
Master Roshi's island, with her hair totally undone, and with amnesia. She
then gathered around with all her old friends, and Family to tell them what
she had done in the past year. Learning the Kamahamaha and Keio-ken
techniques from Goku, and, to everyone's shock, got better in her grades in
school, and learning to fly a space ship from training simulators and flying
small aircraft.

Just then Bulma came out of the cockpit, "Excuse me folks. We're
about to enter the atmosphere. I need everyone to buckle up, and Serena in
the cockpit now. Also I should warn you, its going to be a hot ride."
Everyone agreed and got to their seats.

As soon as Serena and Bulma were back in their seats, they buckled
up, and prepared the VentureStar for reentry. Soon, the shuttle started to
get hot. The ship began to rattle around and alarms were going off. Bulma
and Serena kept the nose up to were it needed to be, and had no
difficulties. Suddenly, the rattling stopped, the shuttle cooled off, and
the alarms stopped. Bulma check her instruments and announced they were
though the atmosphere and started to land at Tokyo airfield. Serena opened
up a channel, "Tower, this is the VentureStar. Requesting permission to
land."

There was static before the towered answered, "Permission granted
VentureStar!! Welcome home!!" The VenturStar made its final alignment and
made its final approach to Tokyo's longest runway, which had every emergency
vehicle ready to move at a moment's notice, next to the runway.

In the United States, Darien was flipping through channels in the
middle of the night. He had been unable to sleep since he heard about the
Scouts going into space, while he was cooking his dinner. As soon as he
came to a show he liked, he began to relax when the show was interrupted by
a news bulletin, "We have just received word the VentureStar has landed at
Tokyo international. After a 7 hour flight, it made it back through the
atmosphere and is about to make final touch down. We go to Tokyo
International, live!!" Darien sat up to watch the footage of a large
shuttle descending to the ground.

A new anchorman spoke up, "We have received word from the tower that
the mission that the VentureStar crew took was a success. It would appeared
that the Sailor Scouts, with the help of the Earth's special forces, have
once again 'triumphed over evil'," The Venture Star came to a stop at the
far end of the field and taxied to the tarmac while the anchorman was
speaking, "Also we have received word that....." Darien turned off the set
when he got up at went to his room. He felt he could sleep better tonight
knowing the Scouts were alright. Too bad he turned the TV off when he
wasn't looking at the screen for if he had, he would have seen the Sailor
Scouts descend the ramp, with Sailor Moon.

Nope, this story isn't over yet. There is still the Epilogue to do. After
all, we need to know how everyone acts when someone who is supposedly dead
has walked back into their lives. Watch for the Epilogue - Reunions. Send
