Beta Readers

Instructions:

Read the descriptions offered and find someone who suits your needs. These betareaders beta in the fandom of Gatch, Battle of the Planets, Eagle Riders, and G-Force. (Please don't ask them to beta in another fandom.) Contact that person. Give a brief description of the story (project) you're working on.

Information you might consider including:: Which series Length of story Characters; Time Line (Gatch I, Gatch II, Fighter); Mood (light, dark, romance, action, angst); Mature subjects (violence, sex, rape, abuse)

Please send a query/request first with Betareader in the subject line.
If you receive a no from the reader(s) of your choice, don't be discouraged. Try another reader. Many of us are simply stuck for time constraints. Others will not read certain subjects. Please respect the 'won't read' listed with the readers.
Give the reader a week in which to respond to your request.
Do not send stories as attached files unless the reader okays it.

If you don't respect the character you're working with, don't expect me to read it. Excellent with BotP, very good with Gatch, Gatch OAV and G-Force. Specifics: Humor is my favorite, action, drama, character pieces. NO pointless XXX or abuse. Not terribly tolerant of "Mary Sue" style romances. Send those at your own risk! Comments: I'm most comfortable with Gatch and BotP. If you're writing in the Eagle Riders world, please don't expect characterization feedback, I know about as much about it as Berg Katse does. Unless it's a 500 page, book-length riff on how exactly Nambu's glasses stay on or exactly how ah-hem daring Dirk is, covered in 1,000 graphic pages, I'll do multiple version edits as well. I also can recognize cliches or what may be inappropriate or "cheesy" for the tone of any given fic.

Please break down long stories into shorter (5-6 pages) parts for faster turnaround. Comments: I prefer dialogue-based, character driven stories. I'm not as into sex stories, stories that don't feature KNT (or G-Force, or whatever) prominently, or self-insertions. I've seen all the versions of Gatch, most in their entirety, though Fighter would be my weak suit. I'm strongest with Gatch I & II and BotP, as well as the OAVs and G-Force, and enough Eagle Riders to know the characters.	pintail@attcanada.net Pintail General: Proofreading, grammar, spelling, plot, line edit and feel, full critique Specific: All fanfics Comments: On a full critique, be warned that my personal opinions and biases may rear their ugly head. I will also offer both positive and negative points, but please let me know if you are a sensitive writer ahead of time, and I will tailor my comments accordingly. I will only beta read complete fics, or 'chapters'. It drives me crazy when I start a story and can't finish it! Especially when it's a good one!

I have no problems with any type of fanfic. I have only seen Botp ,Gforce and Gatch I, But with the synopsis and stories I have read I should be able to muddle by. I figure this might be a good time to give back in return for all the stories I have enjoyed.	Jane Lebak [on hiatus, not accepting betas] General: Detailed critiques, plot, missions, characterization, backstory, technical Specifics: Fanfics PG-13 or under Comments: I'll beta-read anything rated PG-13 or lower, and the writer can decide what that means to him or her. I don't know how fast I can turn stuff around, but I can try. Note: I give very detailed critiques if I'm not told otherwise, so writers need to be prepared. If they want the soft-touch treatment, they need to ask. I wouldn't be mean, but I do try to be thorough.

I've no problem with yaoi or the like. I've translated some of the Be-boy stuff for friends. I'm rather finicky about cross-over work, but it's great when it's well written. grin Anything to get first dibs on the new fics! terrianne@iprimus.com.au Terri-Anne General: Overall feel, story flow, technical issues Specific: All fanfic including adult Comments: I'm strongest in BotP, only know the other series' through fanfics and thus may not be your best source of information on characterisation, but can still read other canons (Gatch, ER, GoS) for story flow, technical issues. I'll read any sort of subject matter and am okay on adult subject matter, provided it's part of the story, not just an excuse for the writer to fantasise :) Detailed crits if requested, nitpicks on spelling provided for free up to a point.
