About Cora Dickson

Cora, who hails from the suburbs of Washington, D.C., currently lives in Kyoto, Japan and works for the Planning Division of Ritsumeikan Asia-Pacific University (APU).The new university is scheduled to open in April 2000 in Beppu, Oita-ken, Kyushu.

In March 1999, through the American University/Ritsumeikan Dual Degree Program, Cora earned a Master's Degree in International Relations from Ritsumeikan. She is an candidate for an M.A. in International Communication from the American University School of International Service, expected August 1999. In addition, she holds a B.S. in Mass Communication and Public Relations from Boston University (May 1992). She has been studying the Japanese language since high school.

Cora's illustrious career includes two years as an Assistant Language Teacher with the JET Programme ('94-'96, Saga-ken) and a year and a half ('92-'93) as a news assistant at the Washington Bureau of the Asahi Shimbun.

Her hobbies include writing, surfing the 'net, and ballroom dancing (whenever possible). She is an avid fan of X-files, 80s music, and sumo.
