WARNING:
This story is way into the alternate reality point.
Be prepared for something very different. It starts
out with Rei but Usagi and Mamoru are in this story.
This fic is completely different and some of the
things you may read are for more mature readers so
I am warning you to stop reading this story if you
are not the appropriate age or maturity for it. This
will contain some sexual content but it is NOT a lemon.
Ages may be different among other things.
Another turning point;
a fork stuck in the road.
Time grabs you by the wrist;
directs you where to go.
So make the best of this test
and don't ask why.
It's not a question
but a lesson learned in time
It's something unpredictable
but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.
So take the photographs
and still frames in your mind.
Hang it on a shelf
of good health and good time.
Tattoos of memories
and dead skin on trial.
For what it's worth,
it was worth all the while.
It's something unpredictable
but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

Time of Your Life (Chapter Eight)

"Why do I always end up cleaning the kitchen floor?", Rei Hino asked
her friend Makoto Kino. The two were on kitchen duty in old St.Theresa
Orphanage, each on their usual duty, Makoto, cooking and Rei, cleaning.
"Sometimes I think someone hates me" Rei went back to scrubbing as
she wiped away a strand of her long, brown hair. The kitchen floor was tiled
and stained a dirty brown so matter how hard she scrubbed it stayed
dirty.
"That's just the way it is", Makoto responded as she carried a pot
to the stove. "Everybody has a job, unfortunately yours is a sucky one"
Rei laughed at Mako's response and went back to scrubbing the floor.
"You know Christina was just adopted" A familiar ache replaced Rei's
happiness. Family. How she wanted it, the wanting was so strong it
hurt. "She was so happy, it makes me wonder what would happen if we
weren't too old to be adopted"
"Yeah being seventeen sucks", Rei remarked. Once you were over thirteen
no one wanted you. You always just remind them of how you weren't
really part of the family. "We'll be out of here in a year"
"It would be nice, wouldn't it?", Makoto said wistfully as she stirred
soup in a huge pot. Rei continued scrubbing though she felt a few
tears film beneath her lids.
"Well get married and have a bunch of kids, instant family", Rei told
her. "You're beautiful, it won't be so hard" Makoto was tall, like
model tall with the model figure. Add that along with thick chestnut
brown hair and almond shaped eyes you had one FINE looking lady.
"Look who's talking", Makoto said to her friend. "You're the one
getting more boys than me" Rei was a looker, burgundy brown hair
that went straight down her back, slim, shapely figure and brown
eyes that had such depth that Makoto thought she saw the whole world
in them sometimes.
"YOU TWO! TALKING AGAIN!", Ms. Mary, the coordinator of the orphanage
shouted, sometimes the word "devil's spawn" seemed the only words to
describe her. Yanking Rei by her hair she made the girl stand. "Haven't
I warned you to just DO YOUR JOB?" She yanked harder at the girl's hair.
"Didn't I?!" It was always obvious that the woman hated her in
particularly.
"Yes, Ms. Mary", Rei responded quietly as tears fell from her face and
Makoto held a washcloth in her hand gripping it tightly to keep her
own eyes from watering.
"No wonder, no one wants you, you're lazy and insolent, a no talent,
no nothing girl", She sneered. "Just like those girls on the corner"
She pushed her down on the floor. "Get back to work" And Ms. Mary in
her business suit and tightly bound hair turned to leave, her shoes
clicking against the linoneum.
For a moment it was quiet as Rei looked down at the floor and in her
reflection she saw nothing but a face. A girl with no past and no
future. Rei gripped the sponge she had tightly and looked at her
friend with tears in her eyes.
"Am I? Am I really like one of those girls at the corner?", Rei asked
in a hushed voice. "Is that all I'm destined to be? A whore?"
"No, never", Makoto said and wiped those tears. "You are more than
that because that's all you were ever destined to be, better than
the rest of this crazy world" Rei nodded and gave her a friend a
painful smile. "Now let's finish the job"
"Yeah, it's just another crazy morning"

School wasn't much different except for that instead of being ridicule
for not being adopted, Rei was ridicule for being in the orphanage.
High schoolers were not kind to the orphanage folk especially the
popular kids.
"Oh look, orphanage skank", remarked a tall, blonde. Geez, she hated
blondes. Popular girl numero uno, Miranda Banks. The girl was rich
enough to owe several banks and she did.
"What do you want?", Rei asked wearily. She didn't feel like dealing
with anyone that couldn't add 1+1 together. The girl simply grabbed
her books, walked into the boys bathroom and as her friend held the
door open Miranda dumped Rei's book into a urinal then flushed.
If the thought hadn't occured to you by now: Miranda hated her.
And vice-versa.
The girl laughed took her boyfriend's arm, who by the way was a dark
haired boy with a cute smile. She liked brunettes. Then Miranda turned
with her boyfriend and walked away. Makoto came to her side.
"I'd really adored that girl if it wasn't for one thing", Makoto said.
"What?"
"She's a bitch"
************************************************************************
School passed as life passed, quickly. After retrieving her soaking
things Rei went to class, she was a good student and got straight A's
but today it was hard to pay attention when she noticed that Miranda's
boyfriend, Chris, was watching her. Okay so he was a LITTLE cute and
the dimples were...okay.
"Rei", He called out to her as she walked out into the hallway. She
looked down at the ground. "I'm sorry about Miranda"
"I don't know why she has a problem with me", Rei informed him and
clutched her books tightly, she felt tense about being near him. Guys
made her like this. "What's a nice guy like you doing with a thing
like her?"
"I broke up with her", Chris said suddenly and she had to blink to
make sure he was actually there. Prom Queen and King, Miranda and
Chris, broken up? "I saw what she was doing and wonder why I didn't
give up on finding something good in her all this time. She's cruel
and I'm not looking for that kind of girl"
"Oh"
"I was looking for someone more like...you", He said slowly and Rei
turned to stare at him.
"Did you think I'm a slut or something?", Rei said indignantly. She
knew boys tended to spread any sort of rumor around each other, the
famous "locker talk". "Anything you've heard is not true"
"No, no!", Chris said. "You're intelligent, you're beautiful, I'm
attracted to you and I wanna take you out" She looked into his eyes
and something told her he was being sincere. "Will you go out with
me?"
"When?", She said considering.
"Now, we can go out to eat", He told her. Taking her hand they exited
the school quickly and out a small hole in the school fence. Walking
a few more blocks they reached a small sushi resturant. "So what do
you like?"
"Anything", Rei said timidly and a waiter set a pot of tea with two
cups down on the table. It was quiet for a moment. "What do you want?"
Chris sat quiet for a moment and finally his eyes met hers from across
the table.
"I wanna kiss you", He said quietly. "Can I?" It seemed that without
hesistation they stood and leaned over to give each other a small,
sweet kiss on the lips. They looked at each other and both could only
do one thing.
They smiled.
***********************************************************************
"So he kissed you in a sushi resturant?!", Makoto said to Rei in their
room. It was that evening when Rei returned that she spilled it all
to her friend. "Right there in front of everyone?"
"It was like no one was there", Rei said and sighed as she looked off
somewhere into space.
"Strange but romantic", Makoto commented. "Miranda's is gonna blow
her top" Makoto looked at her friend and saw that something was
different in her, whatever it was made her glow and she looked so
enchanting that it made Makoto envy Rei.
"The thing is Makoto....is that...I think I'm falling in love with him"
************************************************************************
Two months passed and it spread like a wildfire that Rei and Chris
were now a thing. Everyone was overjoyed, Rei was because she had
Chris, Chris was because he had Rei, and Makoto was happy because
she saw Miranda have a hissy fit when Miranda saw the new couple.
Graduation plans began and everyone was beginning to bid farewell
to old lives. Chris would be going to college as Rei would begin
her senior year. They knew that somehow it would work and they
would stay together. The sadness was forgotten when plans for
the senior prom began. Rei pooled her money together for a dress.
Her and Makoto went shopping and agreed that a burgundy silk dress
with spaghetti straps and low back would be the best bet for her.
She blushed at how it clung to her curves.
The night soon came and Rei look at herself into the full length
mirror in her room. The dress looked great on her and Makoto had
curled and pinned up her thick, rich brown hair. She only needed
light makeup and a spritz of perfume.
"Girl, you kick ass", Makoto said and wolf whistled. "You're gonna
kill tonight" Rei was so lucky, Makoto would spend the night watching
videos she had rented. Most of them romances.
The doorbell rang.
"He's here", Rei breathed out and walked down the stairs to open the
door for him. The other children rushed to peer at the handsome boy
who was courting Rei. In his tuxedo, Chris was smashing and Rei
couldn't help but fall for him all over again. "You look so handsome"
She kissed him.
"You're gorgeous", Chris said in admiration. He held out his arm.
"Shall we?" She took in a breath.
The night had just begun.
************************************************************************
Well obviously they danced and they ate and they got crowned King and
Queen. La-di-da. Anyways Rei saw that Miranda was there and with a
handsome boy who obviously didn't go to the school, what Rei will
always remember from that night was the smug, evil look on the girl's
face. As she knew the night's events and was glad.
The prom ended and now everything else was a blur to her.
Because that night was not important as what took place after.
He was kissing her and she was doing it back but it just got too heavy
for her. His hands were everywhere, on her chest and other places even
now she was still ashamed to say. She resisted but it was too much and
he held both her hands together with just one of his. Her underwear
was off and so were his. Before she knew it pain engulfed her and the
more she refused to acknowledge it, the more it became harder. Rei
felt as she was being crushed, grinded to dust.
Time stopped, the blood came.
Chris's realization came as Rei began to sputtered and cried out in
pain. He got off her and started the car. She was raped, she was raped.
By her own boyfriend. The same words came to her head over and over
again.
She was raped.
He dropped her off and Rei closed the cardoor saying nothing to him.
The orphanage was dark and she was glad. No one would see the broken
heels, the bruises, the stains, her hair in disarray. Walking painfully
up the stairs she took off her shoes and entered her bedroom.
Makoto who was up looked at her in disbelief.
"What the hell happened?", Makoto asked. Their eyes met.
Rei crumbled to the floor in tears. It was too much weight on her
shoulders.
"Tell me, what's wrong Rei?", Makoto said with tears of panic in her
own eyes. Gathering her friend she cradle the girl. Rei was shaking
and Makoto looked her over to see that her dress was torn and that
there was blood on her friend.
Blood.
"Ohmigod", Makoto whispered realizing. Holding Rei tighter she began
to cry.
************************************************************************
They had found out two weeks later that Chris had not broken up with
Miranda, it was plan, a trick that gone wrong. It didn't matter anymore
, he was gone and so was Miranda. Makoto was accepted to a university
in Japan and would be gone soon to establish residence. It pained
Makoto to leave Rei but she knew her friend was strong. She just had
to find it again. With her there Rei would always be leaning on her
and would never stand on her own.
Her friend had to triumph. She had to.
That sad summer morning Makoto's taxi pulled into the curb. Her stuff
was packed and Rei stood depressingly in a long, loose grey sweater
wrapped around her.
"Be strong Rei", Makoto said and hugged her. "I love you my friend"
Rei's eyes filmed with tears. Rei had changed, her hair had turned
stringy, her skin and eyes dull, and her weight fell considerably.
She was no longer bubbly or happy about anything.
Especially about life.
"Write me Mako, please write", Rei whispered and Makoto nodded.
Entering the taxi her friend was gone. Gone to seek life and all
it greatness.
She however would never find that happiness, her life was over.
Standing there she wrapped her sweater more tightly. Life had ended
for her but another would begin. And Rei would face the music alone.
She was pregnant.
************************************************************************
Rei had the baby aborted. One pain to replace another. The loss of her
child would be less pain than to let it know that it's father was a
rapist, a bastard. That child would never forgive itself for being
spawn of evil and she didn't know if she could forgive herself for
letting it live a miserable life. The child would forever be tainted
and better with God than to be on Earth to suffer with everyone else.
Especially it's mother.
A letter had arrived, a boy name Mamoru Chiba had claims of being her
brother. A blood test prove true and soon she would go to Japan. She
would seek Makoto.
She would find her escape.
But though she pretended, she would never find happiness.

Author's Notes:
Rape is not something that it to be taken, lightly. I know a number
of girls who had been raped or taken advantage sexually. Many of them
have kept quiet and that I will admit that is the worst thing to do.
If you know anyone going through a situation such as this PLEASE I beg
you to get help. If you don't it might too late and if you do you
helped someone more than you know.
