So you want some tips on how your site can be better??
okay. these are my personal opinions and aren't
something that could be taken too seriously. These
tips can just make it more enjoyable for when other
people see your site and keep people coming back for more:)
1:Dont have those javascript things that welcome
you to a page or you have to enter your name in.
cute at first, but really really irritating when you keep coming back to the main page. it makes me just get the hell outta your site! it may as well be a popup ad!
2: Smaller text. its really irritating when on my
computer I have to go back and forth on the bottom
nav bar to read your text. it also looks nicer.
3:Do not put complimetary colors together on a site!
if you dont know what complimentary colors are; blue and orange; red and green; yellow and purple.
3:make title graphics or go to a graphics factory like mine. dont just put huge text on a site. it looks kinda tacky. sorry all you people who do that.
4:Dont put bitmaps on your site! they arent viewable in some browsers. same goes for AVI and art files.
5:Make your images small, and keep the java script
goodies to a minimum. it slows the page and makes
people bored and they leave.if you want scrolling text
use a marquee. java is so slow! dont put more than 1 or 2 animated gifs per page. althou putting one or two on everypage wil slow every page. try and keep them to animated gif pages.
6:Crunch all your images so they dont take a
million years to load! if you want to shrink
the size(not dimensions but k's) then go to
www.gifcruncher.com
it just makes it a faster loading image.
7:Dont bundle your site with big images
that are just slapped on your page

8:Make your page viewable in all sized monitors! I hate it when websites say "only viewable in 800x600". I just think "oh great thats conciderate". I hate having to scroll back on forth to see images (or text) and if you have frames like mine then it cuts off half the frame! now thats not friendly!
9:make your page viewable in netscape and IE. that means closing all your tables! (biggest problem) Ending centers, having frames that are viewable in both, low on java ..stuff like that! if you dont do that you probably are cutting out netscape users and thats 40% of the internet:)
10:Dont be afraid to ask people! its the best way to learn. thats how people learn! its more effective than stealing:)
above all:DONT COPY!! thats just plain stupid!! make you look stupid too! besides it will always come back to haunt you in the end!!..or I will.
