Love is a force more formidable than any other. It is invisible --
it cannot be seen or measured, yet it is powerful enough to transform
you in a moment, and offer you more joy than any material possession
could.

Author's Notes:
	- loosely based on the movie, A Kiss Before Dying,
	w/Matt Dillon and Sean Young

		A dark figure exited the bathroom and turned on the Evening News.
Reaching his bed, he picked up the blue towel and began drying his shoulder length black
hair. He got up and paced the room, back and forth, as he dried his hair. He was about to
turn the television off when he heard the reporter say something that caught his interest.
He reached for the remote control and increased the volume.
		A picture of Tsukino Kyoko flashed on the screen. Under the picture
were the numbers 1977 - 1999.
		He then heard the news reporter say,
		"Although the Police are not commenting on the tragic death of
Tsukino Kyoko, our sources tell us that it was a suicide and that the Police have recovered
a suicide note that was found in the mailbox in front of the building where Kyoko jumped.
It was found by a Postal Worker and was addressed to Kyoko's younger twin, Tsukino
Usagi. It didn't have an address or postage. We'll keep you posted. In other news . . . "
		He turned the television off. He had seen Tsukino Usagi on more
than one occasion and quickly became infatuated with her. It wasn't too hard. She was a
kind, caring, and generous person. She was the complete opposite of her cold-hearted,
emotionless father, not to mention the fact that she was "easy on the eyes."
		"Poor Usagi . . . "

Chapter 4:

		"Moshi moshi."
		"Rei?" a deep voice asked.
		"Iie. This is Makoto. May I ask who's call-"
		"Gomen Mako-chan," Mamoru said as he sighed.
		"It's ok-Mamoru?" Makoto asked.
		"Hai."
		"What's wrong? You sound very troubled."
		"You haven't heard the news yet, have you," Mamoru said as he
shut off the television.
		"Iie. What happened? Is it about Usa? Is she alright?"
		Mamoru grinned despite the situation. The girls were always so
protective of Usagi. To them, himself included, she was, and still is, 'little Usa,' the
innocent girl who needed to be protected from everything and everyone.
		She wasn't a girl though, Mamoru corrected himself as he looked
at the partially opened door that revealed a sleeping figure. She was far from it. He felt
his cheeks begin to turn a dark pink color. Makoto interupted him, thankfully breaking him
out of his thoughts,
		"Mamoru!?!  Are you there?"
		"Nani?  Oh, hai.  I am."
		"Well?"
		"Well what?"
		"Argh. Mamoru! You can be so damn annoying! Is she alright?"
		"Oh, right.  Um.  Kinda."
		"Kinda? Kinda?!? What is that supposed to mean?!?"
		"I don't know how to say this-"
		"Just say it."
		Mamoru took a deep breath. This couldn't be so hard, he thought.
He somehow managed to tell Usagi's father . . . and a very heart broken Usagi, so, how
much harder would it be?
		"Kyoto is dead."
		"Nani?!  What do you mean?"
		"She's gone."
		"How?  Does Usa know?"
		"She jumped from a building. Usak-, er, I mean, Usagi knows. She's
sleeping now."
		"Oh my. I can't believe this. Kyoto? It doesn't sound like her,
considering-"
		"Hai, I know. It sounded suspicous to me too, but with the note,
everyone is convinced."
		"I take it that you're not?
		"I don't really know. I mean, I wasn't very close to Kyoto, and Usagi
always looked up to her. I just never thought it. Kyoto always seemed like a very strong,
independent woman to me . . . and there is the one little fact that-"
		"That Kyoto is, uh, I mean, was afraid of heights," Makoto finished.
		"Hai. Usagi didn't think that she would go up there, especially by
herself. Something just doesn't add up."
		"Well, you're the detective, and I'm sure that you'll do everything in
your power to solve this case."
		"I don't know Mako. I mean, everyone, besides us, believes that it's
an open and shut case. I wouldn't be surprised if they've already closed the case."
		"You can't let them!  Poor Usa . . . "
		"Don't worry. Even if they did, I won't rest until I find out the truth."
		"I know you will, Mamoru. I know you said that she's sleeping,
demo, does she need anything?"
		"Uh. I don't think so," Mamoru said, glancing once again at the
door, "Not now at least."
		"You're sure?"
		"Hai. Besides, I think I interrupted her while she was making dinner,"
Mamoru responded as he noticed the half-cut vegetables left carelessly on the greyish-
white marble kitchen table.
		"Alright. Take care of her, ok?"
		"Of course.  Oh and Mako?"
		"Yes?"
		"Could you call everyone else? I want to be with her when she
wakes up and all."
		He could see her grinning as soon as he said that. All the girls
knew that Mamoru had a *thing* for Usagi, but none of them knew the extent of his love
for her. However, they did tell him that if he wanted to pursue a relationship with her, they
would be more than happy to help him along and to accept him not only as their friend, but
as Usagi's boyfriend as well.
		"I'll take care of it. Just take care of her. The girls and I will be over
tomorrow."
		As an afterthought, Makoto added, "Give her a kiss from me."
		Mamoru could feel the his face burning as trickles of crimson began
to stain his face. He was very happy that Usagi was in the other room, asleep.
		"Uh, yeah, sure."
		"Good.  Ja."
		"Ja."

		After hanging up with Makoto, Mamoru reluctantly walked over to
the kitchen and began to finish what Usagi started. He would've preferred standing over
Usagi, watching her as she slept, and making sure not even the darkness of the night
extinguished her light. But it would make things easier for Usagi if he cleaned up a bit, so
that she wouldn't have to worry about it later. Thus, he decided against going to her, and
continued with his task in the kitchen.
		Outside, the wind howled, making Mamoru shudder.

		```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
		With little beads of water dripping from his black hair, Yukio walked
across the room, and searched through his briefcase.  Moments later, a purple, leather
bound book emerged from its dark depths.  Skimming through the pages, Yukio finally
found what he was looking for.  He scribbled the information and walked to his closet.
		```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````

		"Konban wa. Welcome to Dark Moon Incorporated. How may I
direct your call?"
		"I'd like to speak with Mr. Nishikado."
		"May I ask who's calling please?"
		"Tsukino Keiji."
		"One moment sir. I'll check if he's available."
		Keiji grinned as that irritating music came on, indicating that he was
put on hold.
		'Soon . . . ' he thought.
