ADORATION
I'm lost out in the wind and rain,
With nought but the storm to ease my pain.
Wandering the ends of earth and sea,
Searching for someone to rescue me.
I saw your love flowing free,
Rising from within a boundless sea.
Like a rose reaching for the sun,
Wilder than any river can run.
You stole my heart, forever to keep,
Hidden away in darkness deep.
A candle in the night, you light my way.
I move towards you, but you run away.
Forever in sight,
beyond my reach,
Stop awhile please,
I beseech.
Following blindly,
I know not where,
Hoping only that I'll find you there.
The night hides all,
the brightness ebbs
As I sink deeper and deeper into your web.
In sudden darkness
I stumble and fall,
Yearning for guidance,
I hear your call
Your voice beckons,
rising clear and strong
Throwing away caution,
I ride your song,
In hope that it will lift me to a world apart,
To a place I can rest this weary heart.
Where love can work its healing power,
Flowing like water over a wilted flower,
Soothing my tears and pain at last
washing away sorrows of the past.
