In katakana, doubling vowels is simple, so long as you remember this one rule. Any and all
doubled vowels are written with a single straight line. For example:
KONPYUUTAA (computer): | |
BIIRU (beer): | |
KUUGAA (cougar): | |
This rule holds for all doubled vowel sounds in katakana. So be careful to avoid writing
the katakana vowel where the
should be.
