(12-96) One day I passed by a clerk's desk, I heard her let out a cry: "I need a man." She was over 40, and overweight. I would have never thought of her being sexual. I was struck by how poor my imagination could be. When I think of sex, I can only think of Hollywood images. They are all composed with young and trim figures.
I searched hard through my memory of all the movies I've seen. Believe me, I have seen lots of movies. I wondered if any movie has made sexy scenes out of two heavy and not so desirable figures. I couldn't find any. "Piano" came close. Holly Hunter made love with the beast Harvey Keitel. What a beast. Other than the face being painted like a native aborigine, Keitel has a muscular arms, legs, and a firm butt. Fortunately, his legs are short and bow legged. It gave a sense of reality. The scene was a bit awkward, and the awkwardness gave such a flavor of being realistic. Definitely one of the most memorable love scenes. Still, it is far away from real life.
If you find yourself unable to function when your partner has aged, gained weight, or suffered some undesirable changes, then you are probably a victim of Hollywood commercialism.
