Where Do I Get Yuu-Yuu

The day I feared has finally come to pass. US Manga Corp has translated and dubbed Yuu-Yuu Hakushou comercially. Right now they only have movie #2 for sale but there's supposedly more on the way. The thing is... IT SUCKS!!!! Dubbed Yuu-Yuu?? Blah! The least they could have done is subtitled it!! Don't waste your time or money buying US Manga Corp's dubbed Yuu-Yuu. Stick with fansubs for now. For those unfamiliar with fansubs, here's a brief explanation.

Fansubbers make copies of harder to get anime (stuff that hasn't and probably won't be released here in the US) and distribute them to people at a reasonable price. You usually wind up paying between $15-18 (but prices can vary depending on who you're dealing with) for three 2 hr tapes. My dealings with Fansubbers have been good; so don't worry, they won't rip you off.

Unfortunately. Capsuple Corp. (One of the best fansubbers on the net) is closing down. I haven't had time to find another fast and reliable fansubber yet, but I did find this.

Henshin Video Heroes is a site that offers the whole yyh series on video. The only draw back is that it's in all japanese with no subtitles. I know this doesn't appeal to some, but for now this is all I have to offer. I promise to find another fansub site asap.

If you don't wanna go the Fansubber route, you could purchase Yuu-Yuu Hakusho Lds ( Laser discs) from a place called Mangaya. However, this route if substantially more exspensive as you'll be buying the Lds straight from Japan. This also means that it'll be in all japanese with no subtitles (that dosen't bother me [I prefer all japanese] but it might not appeal to others). You'll also need a laser disc player, and they run anywhere from $250-350 here in the US!! The upside to this is that you get *much, much* better quality than from Fansubbers and Mangaya has the *whole* series!! If you've got the cash, check it out.

Well, I wish you luck in your quest to find Yuu-Yuu and now..... Back to Rinku's Main Page
