2002.9.14 “Shinigami” are gods of death who work for underworld and travel between the world of living and dead to take care of unusual circumstances of death. Meet Asato TSUZUKI who is very powerful, has 12 shikigami and has worked for about 70 years. However, he likes to eat, drink, and play a lot, so he hasn’t had any promotions. His young, serious partner Hisoka is empath - the ability to feel emotions. Hisoka died at the age of 16 and is forever stuck at that age, but he still wants to grow stronger. Where will these two go? Will they get along? What they do when an enemy, Muraki, appears and wants Tsuzuki's powers? The first time I ran across it was on Cassiel’s page, PaperThin Pleasures. It didn’t really interest me, so I moved on. Then one of my friends shoved the books on me and I was madly flipping/semi-reading through the seven volumes she had. Even though Hisoka’s situation reminded me of Tokyo Babylon, I couldn’t help but enjoy the storyline and the little comments the author just had to add in. >.< Her storytelling was serious but amusing at other times, though it seems to dragging a little at the moment, probably because it's taking a little while for the volumes to come out. Her drawing style seems to be changing as it moves through the story. I like her artwork in the beginning and am not sure about now.
