Welcome to Radio Kashira, the Circuit Beaver's first attempt at multi-media! Sparkling Mello will be doing most of the DJ-ing, mainly because she has the better computer. ^-^ Also, these are in .ZIP files, so nothing is wrong with them, you might just want to unzip them first. Go to www.winzip.com for a free evaluation copy if you don't have it already.

Anyway, as nice as this is, there's always room for improvement. We'd like to make our broadcasts in streaming mp3 format, or something equally small, compact, and neat. E-mail Sparkling Mello for ideas and names of programs or something like that. We hope you enjoy our shows!

Note that we also have transcripts of our shows, since they may be kind of incoherent. ^_^::

Check, Check, 1...2...4....Hello, curious listeners and welcome to Radio Kashira. This is a prerecorded 60 second broadcast in .wave form brought to you by the one and only fabulous web group the Circuit Beavers. This is also a new feature for Studio Kaoru, because we have nothing else to do with our spare time. We can talk about Utena if you'd like, but we'll also be covering other popular topics such as ugly school uniforms and short short skirts. If you've got any ideas, you can't IM us, but you can e-mail us at arisugawa3@hotmail.com or miyazawa3@yahoo.com. We don't have a lot of time right today, but join us tomorrow when we talk about Fox's new anime import, Escaflowne.

::gurgle:: what? I'm on? ohhh....Welcome to our second installment of Radio Kashira. This is your dj Sparkling Mello. As promised, I bring to you Fox's new anime dub, Escaflowne, or Tenkuu no Escaflowne as some of you are more inclined to think of it. Although I was working that Saturday morning at the cleaners, dealing with annoying customers and sorting out bundles and bundles of shirts, good friend and advocate RINGO taped it for me, thank you very much, Ringo, I appreciate it a lot.
Speaking of which, you'll probably notice that I've discovered a new method of making this a much longer broadcast. If some of you are not liking that because it takes much more time to download. Any computer literate person listening to this, if you know how to make streaming mp3s or any other easier listening format, E_MAIL ME, PLEASE! Anyway, back to Escaflowne. Now, I've already seen the subs, which are always the way to go for anime. I thought Escaflowne was fantastic. It had good animation, decent plot, and great music from Yoko Kanno, who is rumoured to be a former sumo wrestler and cat person. Unfortunately, I held different opinions on the Fox's dubbed version. ALL the violence was hacked out, making it a little less impacting on the viewer. Fargus' death was totally belittled. And A LOT of music from later episodes were butchered into bite sized sound bytes. The raising of Escaflowne had almost four different compositions cut in one! Poor Yoko, I hope she didn't watch this. If I were her, I would have cried. Voices were all right, even Hitomi's. If you've ever seen an episode of Sailor Moon, DIC style, you know what I'm talking about. Still, all dubs tend to do that thing where they run on and on in their sentences. It makes them look and sound stupid, "Oh, Hey, look out, I mean there's danger on your left, Van!" Right, right. I liked Merle's voice actress, although Fox has decided to call her Meryl, reminding me of Meryl Streep. I don't really want to connect an image of her to anime. It's just plain silliness. And Dilandau's voice from next episode's previews! He makes me laugh. He sounds like a little pre-adolescent boy. Not some hell-bent bloos-thirsty psychopath. The only thing though, is that I'm looking forward to his nervous breakouts. "I'll destroy you all!" Hee hee. That'll be funny. Well, I'm tired now, and I'm going to sign off. If you've got anything, remember to e-mail me at
arisugawa3@hotmail.com. And if anyone has got the name of a good radio software program, I'd really like the name of that. Tune in tomorrow, when I bring in a surprise guest! Sayanora, minna-san!
